My Everything

You whisper such sweet words
Into my ear as I lay
With no strength and no power.
My light is slowly dimming as
You take control of the night.
My eyes close as I feel the pain
Inside me rise up and engulf me.
The pain! Oh, the pain!
As I lay there I scream inside,
No one to hear or to know.
My light is almost out as you smile.
Cursed is that smile! Oh, wretch!
That smile of the devil!
It has caused me so much pain, so much loss.
As I wake from a deep slumber,
I pray that it was all just a dream.
But I soon remember the days of yester-year,
The pain that you have caused me.
You have taken my innocence, my youth.
My happiness is replaced by melancholy.
My light with darkness.
As I lay at death's door, you have taken
My Everything.
