No, I do not believe that I am Goth however I feel that it is the closest to whatever it is that I am. What is it to be Goth, truly? I know that it is more than teen angst or people just wearing black and writing morbid, melancholy poetry. I have been intrigued by the Gothic subculture for some time now but I do not feel that I have explored it enough. I have yet to fully investigate the literature and music that is considered to be Gothic. I suppose the internet is as good a place as any to look for answers. I would enter the community but I feel that I am a tad bit socially awkward. When I am in the presence of new unfamiliar persons I find myself to be very anxious and paranoid. I feel as if a bolder is being placed on my chest at an excruciatingly slow and painful pace. This creates an inner panic and later triggers my oh-so wonderful self loathing which in turn leads to; physical pain. This however is a different subject for a different time. Now, back to the topic of my… Gothdom? I hope that soon I understand what it is to be Goth. Maybe then I might know myself a little bit better.
