A week later

Her eye is better and the cut is healing nicely. Just have to endure a lot of stupid jokes about being a wife beater which are kind of funny for the first minute or two.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel for money right now is the main focus of life. Due to shoddy bookkeeping, we're nearly broke and the phones got turned off until I can get into the store to pay the bill with cash. Last time I went, naturally, they were closed for lunch. Now I have clients coming over. Once they're done, it's on. And no happy drugs, nothing to make life warm and fuzzy, taking away the clammy feet and making us peaceful. Oh, the money for it is gone taken out of the account, but it hasn't been shipped yet. Neither has her present. God damn it.
In other news, in ten days we'll be heading up to Alaska, divorcing ourselves from everything down here for a week of isolation. I may not even turn my phone on just cos I don't want to deal with anything back here. That's the point of a vacation, right? Leaving behind all the shit that made you want to take a vacation, not bringing it on the vacation?
Tonight, budget drawing up, monetary discussions, and a weekend of working. Next weekend should make up for it though. House sitting at a place with a hot tub for three or four days, big house, puppy, then going up to Alaska for vacation, not to return until the New Year. Hopefully I'll be able to figure a thing or two out and have positive numbers in the bank account rather than, you know, -.
