I like to cosplay ..
Sooo recently I joined a forum to learn, share ideas and shizz.
I'm not gonna mention the forum, cos I'm about to slate it o.O

What a bunch of clique turds!
Hierarchy and judgments rife!
So bloody disappointing :/

Cosplay & costuming SHOULD be about fun; creating your dedication to a beloved character. I'm swimming in anime, choking on Harley Quinns and the traffic on site appears to be a bunch of twats? One of the site admin ripped a newbie a new one for asking a question :o
Fuuuck me .. pretty sure asking questions is how we learn!?

Resulted in the newcomer leaving .. way to go obnoxious moderator!

I hate seeing people bullied, singled out, ostracized ..
Cosplayers SAY that they're a supportive community.
From what I've seen, that's total bullshit.
Facebook groups and forums alike, they're teeming with assholes!

Never count on a community to be anything, evar. Make your costumes and hang out with you cosplay buds. That is where you'll find your joy.

A lot of forums are like that, too many pretentious and arrogant people who forgot that they were novices once and who get their kicks out of flaming people...

Usually how it goes in any interest group. The fastest way to sour something you love or be bullied away from it is to be around other people who participate in thing.

TBH it's quiet around these parts, wasn't expecting any response.
So, really nice surprise to find replies to me having a whine lol ..

Gah, I fucking hate those with disregard for others!

For several years I was a moderator on a forum for folks with MH issues.
The community there was made up from a worldwide base of people suffering from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders .. etc .. etc ..
The people who I witness society so often labels, undermines, disregards.
Sure there would be the odd tussle of words, opinions differ and as we all know it's easy to misconstrued convos on screen. Have to say tho, overall the community were the most friendly, helpful and tolerant folks.

I've seen some really shit put downs put out there; by faceless fucks hiding behind screens. Every time I do, it just disheartens me. Parasitic humans ..

Have to remind myself that not everyone out there is a bastard lol ..

*** hugs *** as much as we pride ourselves in being civilised and humane and all that crap, humans are the most evil, vicious and cruel of all the animals...there is good amongst the bad but sadly given that we pride ourselves on being intelligent and evolved we really should do better...D-?

Horrible isn't it!
I've resolved to feel for the person who was treated poorly.
Yes they were just words on a screen, but there was no warrant for them to be addressed in such a way .. and perhaps we all know that even merely typed words can hurt and impact negatively! The member left the forum.

I have lingered, but decided to continue just for research etc ..
If there's decent folk there then that's a bonus, if not pffft ;)
