Blues is pure expression. In a sense, one has to abandon technicality but still know what the hell they're doing when playing or singing it. It's about one broad sound, not super insanely fast notes. A good tip for blues guitarists is to listen to vocals, to get that sense of playing in their guitar. A good "Talking" guitar player is Slash. He's a blue player but he's in rock bands and he's HEAVILY distorted.
