Dude. No-one is saying it's ok to discriminate against people based on the fact that they belong to an alternative subculture. But handing out cards to people is a dramatic, self-indulgent and utterly ineffective solution. Do you really think a card is gonna change the mindset of the kind of person who would "kill your girl or boy friend right in front of you for being goth"? What the hell are they FOR? If attacked, are you supposed to flash the card at your would-be killer while yelling, "stand back, I've got a Subcultures at Risk card!"?
Of course not. It's just another self-aggrandizing gesture from another self-important tool.
