Reminds me of a incident that happened a few years ago in Alberta:

I remember when CTV first reported it they tried to completely blame it on goth culture, the RCMP however was thankfully quick to point out that it wasn't a big influence, it had more to do with the fact that a 23 year old nutball who thought he was a werewolf was in a pedophile relationship with a twelve year old. Thats more sensational than black nail polish, I think, wonder why the news went straight for the goth angle.
