The first place I moved to in Texas (on advice from a friend who offered a free place to stay for a bit) was a cowboy dunghole, where I had to drive 60 miles to find a bookstore. It was a dry county so there were no bars, but there was a country western club where you could line dance.
For the time I lived there I basically stayed holed up in my house watching satellite TV. It was the only time in my life since I quit doing drugs that I wanted to be constantly medicated.
Lincoln sounds pretty bad too.
