I used to kind of think along those same lines back when I was in high school so maybe I can get this across to you. What I didn't understand then but do now is that racism is not about individual interactions it is systematic, it is cultural, it is everywhere. It isn't something that can be understood through anecdotes, you have to look at the big picture.
