In fact with the Protestant revolution they made the point that God is bigger than the Church and sacraments and can't be limited to one denomination, even if early Protestants didn't get along much they got the ball rolling for inclusivism and pluralism. Vatican II was really the Catholic Church giving up some of its really really conservative anti-modern views and acting more like Protestants.
I thought the vatican two was a more recent thing , when did it come into being ?
