That's a fair question.
As long as we could be together, and could be considered spiritually and emotionally married in the eyes of God [which some homosexuals do, when they have a ceremony, even if their state doesn't legally recognize it], I couldn't care less about the financial or legal benefits.
I don't need the State to tell me I love my husband, or to tell me that he is, indeed, my husband.
