Wearing them other than for costume purposes, they make me think someone has read a few too many Anne Rice novels. They can be fun, but to each their own...
I'm surprised no one has shouted DIY at the OP yet. There are many sources on how to fashion yourself a pair out of acrylic, that way you can make sure you get the right shape and that they fit well. Try google.
