There's nothing wrong with liking Metallica so long as you recognize that they're not a Goth band, which I'm sure you do. A lot of people assume that we hate anyone who likes bands that aren't Goth, but that simply isn't true. We just like it when the labels are put into their appropriate place. I like a few Metallica songs myself.
I don't blame you for being tired of Myspace. Myspace and Facebook are two of the most worthless things I've ever signed up for.
