If a poor child commits a crime and says 'well my parents were drug addicts who did not raise me properly', they get lengthy prison sentences. If a rich child commits a crime and says 'well my parents were so rich they did not have time to spend with me so I was not raised properly' they walk on four counts of murder.

I wonder if it was a black child who lived with his crack-addict mother who plowed into and killed four members of a church group if he had used the 'my parents did not teach me what I needed to know when I was younger' defence if the same judge would have let him walk?
