Oh what about a bias cut skirt? they tend to flow over your hips, accentuating the curves but not clinging to the bumps? Well that's what a dress maker recommended for me years ago, because I'm an hourglass - boobs, short waist and hips. Tried one on in a silk/satin and I loved the way it sat and swished.

Got a free pattern on the internet to make one if you are remotely handy with a sewing machine. They take about 3m of fabric. That way you could buy a nice top?

Oh and swing skirts/dresses look friggin' awesome, although I'm wondering if you would have to do your hair to match?

I think I've seen a few other websites such as mod cloth (or clothes or something like that) for those retro 50's look.
