It does seem silly. Surely there is already some law active that prohibits involuntary implants, or indeed any involuntary surgery?
But as a concept, its really a rather nice idea. I mean, implanting someone with an ID chip is something I've certainly contemplated (as well as discussed
). Consensually naturally.
The caveat being that it is rather hard finding someone willing perform the procedure and implant such a chip (finding a willing recipient is the easy part), due to the dubious legality and ethics perceived to surround such a venture.
And I must admit that a beeper in the mentioned region would indeed be even more fun.
Maybe your DoD arn't such boring people after all?
