Facebook is the devil for that. Should you chance to wake up with a feeling of nausea commingled with vague self-loathing, it's far better NOT to think about the why's and the wherefore's. Friends don't let friends remember that shit. If they're truly benevolent, they will join you in an act of collective repression.
And in return, if a friend ever calls YOU the morning after asking, "Mate, did I really - ", you don't let them finish that sentence. You cut them off with "NOPE, so, want to go out and get some eggs?" Because that's what friends do. (Also, there's a good chance you're feeling pretty queasy yourself, and you may not keep said eggs down if you let them open the floodgates of memory for you.)
