You have moral objections to pain and cruelty inflicted upon animals, but you won't even look at it and don't even want to think about it. And it isn't out of your control, you support businesses that practice factory farming and cruelty with your money. You can't pretend to honestly care about animal welfare if you don't even want to think about these things. Those people who "sacrifice" animals in public and give them to the poor are less hypocritical than those who eat animals that were tortured out of sight, all the while saying "golly, those guys are savages."
