And always keep a photo of your cat in your wallet. I've lost five cats over the years and they are all in there, so they're always with me in spirit, wherever I go. ...and yes, I had to put one of them to sleep the same way you have to, still hurts like hell (been 11 years now) but it was for the best. The last look in that cats eyes said he knew too.
