There´s a bit of need to clarify something:

I started this thread actually as I was in a funny mood. I´ll have to apologize for using the word "tool". Obviously the meaning of tool is a bit different over the Atlantic. But I also understand that some of the posters were afraid of the word gothic in conjunction with tool. (Catchy Title, sort of)
Just to reassure you - this is not meant to be another "I´m sooo gothic" or "I´m the uber goth" thread.
This is purely dedicated to the most loved things you carry with you or you try to hide at home and maybe finally decided to share with us.
And so far I think there´s quite some humor showing up in this thread too. That´s what I think counts. Stay laid-back, relax and have fun.

Tenet: is that actually toilet paper on the very right side of your guitar pic?

That’s ok, there was this one time after eating a friends ‘home cooked cake’ that got us so far gone in to a oblivion that I started acting out my favorite part from the Iliad.

Also I love my books.

Xng, you ARE cool like that!

I have a riddle.

Q) How do you identify a gothic tool?

A) They start bad, stereotype-reinforcing threads like "Favorite Goth Tool."

What's wrong with Batman's Anti-Shark Repellant?? Beside the double negative action it's a quality product. I own five bottles and I haven't seen a shark in the near by Minnesotan' lakes yet!!

It can't be anti-shark repellent, though. Then it would only repel anti-sharks.

We're trying to figure out what an anti-shark is.

I'd rather fight anti-shark than auntie Rose.

And while we're on the subject, why didn't any of the Batarangs return when Batman threw them?

demonista speaks of the original batman movie, circa 1964. it was during this scene we learned of batman's anti-shark repellent.

I was well aware of that. Nowhere else (except maybe in the originating campy TV series ) in the entire Batman mythos was anti-shark repellent mentioned.

I loved that show when it first was on (I was 8 when it debuted) ... mostly for the villains. I mean, come on! They had Victor Bouno as King Tut, Cesar Romero as the Joker, Burgess Meredith as the Penguin, Frank Gorshin as the Riddler, Julie Newmar as my favorite of the actresses who played catwoman and Vincent Price (!) as Egghead.

Interesting Trivia from the Wikipedia article referenced above:

* Two-Face was considered too gruesome a character and so never appeared on the show. However his inclusion was considered for a while and apparently Clint Eastwood was considered for the role during this period.

* Dr. Cassandra (played by Ida Lupino) used several weapons in her attempts to defeat Batman - such as special vanishing pills that made her invisible, and which allowed her to spring several of Gotham City's arch-criminals from the Gotham State Penitentiary as part of her crime wave. One of them was called the "Alvino ray-gun" (which she used at Spiffany's Jewelry Store to "flatten" Batman, Robin and Batgirl), after first getting browbeaten by G. David Schine, the shop's proprietor. In original drafts of the script, the weapon was known as the "Ronald Ray-gun".

* Lesley Gore , who plays "Pussycat" (one of Catwoman's henchwomen) , was a popular singer of the day with hits such as "It's My Party And I'll Cry If I Want To".

* Several cast members recorded records tied in to the series. Adam West released a single titled "Miranda", a country-tinged pop song that he actually performed in costume during live appearances in the 1960s. Frank Gorshin released a song titled "The Riddler" which was composed and arranged by Mel Torme. The track captures Gorshin's insane portrayal perfectly. Burgess Meredith recorded a spoken word single called "The Escape" backed with "The Capture", which was The Penguin narrating his recent crime spree to a jazz beat.

"Tune in tomorrow — same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!"

-"For the first two seasons of the BATMAN TV series, Catwoman was played by Julie Newmar.

-Between the first and second seasons of TV's BATMAN , the Producers went to the big screen with a full-length feature film. Julie Newmar was busy filming another movie and the Film makers turned to former Miss America Lee Meriwether.

-Julie Newmar returned as Catwoman for the second season of BATMAN.

-For the third and final season of the TV series BATMAN, Julie was once again busy with other projects. During this time, singer Eartha Kitt took over the role."

I know a Gothic Tool. A good mate of my ex-boyfriend actually. He used to sneer at me for putting Interview with the Vampire and band posters up in my house - apparently he'd "outgrown posters". Good for him... *rolls eyes*
