I can't stand when people use 'good' in place of 'well'.
For example, "He did good."
No, he did well.

I hate it when people talk text, e.g. omg, ttyl, fyi etc. It drives me mad. Using them when writing a text or post is understandable (though I never have), it's using them in spoken conversation that I can't stand. Also, sham (I think that's how you spell it), as in 'Alright sham?' You usually hear this from brain-dead retards with their brand name sports wear and corsas. God I hate spides.

I have a deep seated issue with the word 'per se'. I'm assuming I picked up this annoyance from an episode of southpark. The vampire kids said it. It jsut happens to really piss me off:/

My brother has a friend with stoner parents who named the poor boy Blaze because they couldn't think of anything else.

I don't like when people say "You know what I mean/Nah mean/You feel me/Know what I'm saying?" after almost every sentence.

The word I hate and it is used on my campus is "fail".

If you got back a bad midterm because you didn't prepare for the exam, got wasted on a Sunday and missed your exam on Monday, cheated on an exam and got caught, dumped your mate and their doing better without you, got a DUI and a speeding ticket last Tuesday, got laid a week ago and you just discovered you have a STD, went to your job drunk and got fired... or did some other stupid thing that got you in a rut, DOESN'T MEAN EMPHASIS THE FACT YOU SCREWED UP!!

I am getting the impression that the people that use this word either a) wants someone to feel bad for them b) wants a pat on the head like they did something so great c) desperate for attention or d) is replacing another f-word I know.

Either way, when I hear someone scream "fail" I think, "Shall I post up neon lights with the word "fail" over you, so all of us can acknowledge your failure."

Reminds me of a line from a NoFX song....

"My sister's name is Mary Jane, and I'm Bud"

R&B songs ( of the sort comonly heard on the radio I mean )contain a plethora of words I can't be doing with. The above mentioned, and my biggest annoyance - "Boo" " Me and ma boo" WHAT THE FUCK IS A BOO?

I do realise it's a term given to mean a woman, as is "Shawty" , but.... a boo? Who the hell came up with describing the object of your affection as a Boo? Is it an abbreviation of..something? What?

And "Shawty"...what if she's a 6 foot beast of a woman? What the hell do you call her then?

Also, couples who call eachother "Babe" It's sickening, ridiculous and makes my gut turn. It sounds particularly hideous when said with an Essex accent "yaariiitebabe???"

"Boo" can be a SO of any gender, its derived from "beau".

As for Shorty, I do believe that was also the nickname of the man Blondie and Tuco left to hang in The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly. So it can go towards whoever is shorter I guess! It always reminds me of a boyfriend I towered over

Holy cow, I was wondering where the term Boo came from... 'twas a puzzlement, until now. *strokes her chin*

Words that end with "let".

Like pigglet, or gibblet.

Eww.

I used to really hate it, I remember a boyfriend saying it a few years ago and I seriously reconsidered my relationship with him for saying it, but now that I'm older I've gone from "that phrase somehow disgusts me" to "that phrase is pretty funny."

  • Reckon
  • Like ("Like, you know because it's, like, that thing of when, like...")
  • "Cut on" (as opposed to "connect"), the reversal of "cut off"
  • "I don't want no..." (double negatives)

Bleugh. I was seeing this guy who would say it ALL the time, and it would instantaneously destroy all traces of my libido. I'm glad you have overcome the fear!

The phrase "douche-bag" or just "douche" in general when referring to an idiot. I hear it every where & it irks me.
Also, I can't stand when people use ****** & cracker to refer to african americans & caucasians :|
