PJ: I don't think there's a set pallor that doesn't suit black hair (some pale people look great but if you're "Irish" pale - that is, freckled - it's probably a bad idea). However, an oft-overlooked issue when dying black is eyebrows. If it's going to take you longer in the mornings to darken them so they match, the whole thing could be a pain in the arse.

I am just such an Irish pale, and freckled as well. Sucks that I've just done it.

Ummm, I can't really tell right now because I haven't got anything for my eyebrows so they're still being drawn with a reddish brown color. ...
So naturally it looks shitty. On the flip slide, my foundation covers most of my freckles anyways...

Having to start work in a little over a month, and not having dyed my hair anything funky in little over a year, I decided that tonight would be a good time to dye my hair purple. I need this tiny bit of freedom before Dorney Park steals my soul for another summer.

Straight (as is most asian hair), black, short with side bangs.

Lightly-freckled isn't so bad - I'm technically Irish white, but don't look it as my freckles are so pale you can barely see them. (I have obsessive application of total block and a tendency to get headachey after ten minutes of direct sunlight to thank for small mercies.) How's it settling down?
I'd highly recommend getting your eyebrows tinted, if you can. It's not expensive and will save you many hours over the coming months.

Mine is naturally dark brown, a little wavy and half way down by chest. I’m trying to grow it out to my hips.
I use to have hip length black hair with my bangs cut into a V, but A) I'm lazy and B) the dye was doing a lot of damage to my hair. Sadly cut it up to my chin two Novembers ago just to get rid of the damage. Fun times.

About four inches long all the way around except my fringe, maybe six inches, black and red in color but VERY faded and my damned blond roots are like an inch long.
My fringe would be way, way, way longer if I wouldn't have let that damned lady cut my hair.

2/3 inch plain ol' mohawk. I'm thinking about getting it dreaded up before I move.

Super super long, down to my butt, and dyed blue-black. Very straight and parted on the side.

That's the exact hair style I've wanted for a while now. I have hair a bit longer than that, very straight, and black, and I would love to get bangs cut into that V-shape. Haven't done it though, and I'm a little wary because if I do then if I ever want to grow out the bangs it's going to be very awkward for a very long time.

Short Hair cut with a Mohawk in the back. It is dyed brownish red. I'm going to dye it lighter this summer. something like Rihanna hair color but a little darker.

My hair is still long and brown... I've been tempted to either chop it off to be short and dye it black like this... (pretty Ga-in's) Or leave it long.... *sigh*

Straight, freshly dyed deep burgundy brown, and a nearly to my bra strap now. Debating a chop, it keeps getting caught on my school bag straps and even my split ends have split ends now! =( Thinking I might go back to this style from a couple years ago:
Opinions please? (nevermind the lack of makeup + tired expression. It was a cheer-up cut when my brother passed away)

OOOoooooh.
I like how it curves inward. It's a nice style.
