Smack in the middle of ground zero

The Mexicans are going nutz in my neighborhood. There was a huge rally 10 blocks from my house with a full on contingent of riot police. I rode my bike up behind the police to just take a look. The police were spread out about 10 feet from each other in 3 or more rows. The guy nearest me immediately turned and approached me fast with a look of no-nonsense and said I couldnt be behind him. Felt stupid and told him sorry didnt think about that and got around to the side to see it. There were people running back and forth with Mexican flags and the crowd was chanting loudly. On my way back home there were Mexicans everywhere with the flags and cars were honking and they would yell at each other in support and honk their horns and raise their fists. Its been all day all through the Neighborhood.

Whites and blacks are getting seriously pissed too. Ive heard things I've never heard before from common ordinary people and said loud for all to hear like:

"The only good Mexican is a dead Mexican"

and other disturbing things. This is what happens in a Multi-Cultural society the tribes will eventually compete to the point where none of the tribes wants to back down anymore but they all want more of what the other tribes have. The Americans and non-hispanics want security and less competition for jobs and less problems and the illegals and hispanics want it to continue meaning their demographic gets larger and more powerfull. There isnt much that can be done about those here becuase if they tried mass deportations there would be riots and maybe low-level civil war. But dont do anything and we'll get that at some point anyway.

Frightening stuff cuz I have a front row seat. Havent gone out side since 2pm as getting too many weird, angry or nervous looks at me.

Everytime I saw them chanting and yelling with their flags and their fists in the air everything inside me wanted to yell something back but I'm not dumb - way outnumbered so I just cringed inside for a country getting ready to go Postal.

Was taking a nap when I heard honks and shouts and screams. Thought I was dreaming. Opened the front door to hundreds and hundreds of Mexican teenagers marching down the street. I didnt see one American flag but I saw dozens of Mexican flags. When you live where I live you know this isnt immigration this is reconquista. Oh yeah and they had a police escort so they must feel pretty important as I guess they are. They are the future and they know it. This is their land now and they are making their demands. This is the beggining of their demands. Wonder what else their gonna want. Whatever it is probably wont be good for me.

Wonder how long this is going to go on. Its really pissing off the rest of us down here. Its all I hear about.

So fuck you.

They're exactly as American as you are, and have exactly as many rights. They don't have "demands", they want equality.
Didnt say they didnt have the right to protest. I think what I'm trying to do is give you a picture of whats going on down here. Dont like it thats fine but this is whats happening. If you think what I've said is bad I think I've been fairly neutral compared to the rest of my non-hispanic neighbors. There is a ton of anger here and its sucks to see. I wish it wasnt happening but it is.

For telling you whats going on down here. Man you should here what people are saying down here its getting ugly. People are polorizing to one side or the other. You must not live in my neighborhood or you'd know. I dont think that I said anything bad about the people protesting just that they are saying no- you will not pass a law that hurts us or our future. That is natural for people to do but its natural for others to be pissed about it as well.

Fair enough - I allways respect your opinions. But let me say this though cuz I have to admit that I havnt talked to those that are protesting. But I have talked to those that arent and are non-white (white, asian, black and some phillipenos) they are PISSED.

Shouldnt I be concerned when I see hundreds of pissed off people marching down my street and then hear my neighbors say "The only good Mexican is a dead one"

Man I'm concerned - its getting tense.

Because its natural to want a border. A nation without a border isnt a nation. I want something done about this massive Immigration. 80 hospitals closed pisses me off. yeah its natural to be pissed about that. Its also natural to be pissed about hundreds of people waving a foriegn flag in a country I was born to.

That shouldn't anger people. That should be seen as valiant.
I dont get how he has a right for our borders to be open. If he is a citizen then that should concern him if he's not a citizen than he has basic human rights like any other human here but no citizen rights as he's not a citizen.

I think one thing I'm trying to do is show you the future. Its not going to be pretty. Its going to be violent clashes between competing groups of people. What are you going to say when that happens. I know what I'm gonna say. I know I'm on the side of right and the future will saddly prove it.

You're right about the "you must not live in my neighbourhood"-bit. As you can plainly see, I live in Norway. It's another country altogether! Imagine that.

And, to quote from your rather incoherent and vague piece of writing here, you mean to say that it's "natural for people" to "pass a law that hurts us or our future"? What does that even mean anyway?! You are making no sense.

Also, in case you didn't know; you have a one-track mind.

I think its natural for the protestors to be pissed about a law that they feel will negatively effect them. I think its also natural for alot of people to feel angry about the in your face mexican flags and the out of control immigration. Thats what I'm trying to say. Let me ask you this when do Americans get to say thats enough. Do Americans have the right to want something done. And dont you think it odd that Mexico protects its border with a vengence and actually whips illegal immigrants in its country.

4mytribe, you're not 'explaining what it's like' over there.

You're trying to use the protest that's going on to justify your way of thinking. If your views need justification, how good can they be?

Well we all have our views and I think that we're all gonna color it to some extant. But I guess I shouldve tried to be even more nuetral but that can be hard at times when your smack of the middle of this. But the people shouting with fists and flags and hundreds of teens marching down my street is very acurate.

Its a revolution all right and I dont think I'm condemning them for wanting whats in their best interest. I think people without passion are boring. I since alot of passion from people here and thats what I like about this place.

Does it unnerve me yeah. I'll tell you this when it was in downtown LA it wasnt as bother some and I would talk to people and the feeling was this is a fairly calm neighborhood and that stuff wont come here. And then it did

I might be a fucktart but at least I have passion.

Everyone, you may have read above in this thread that I went with my school to protest down in Dallas City Hall and make a stand. There is partial lie in that statement.
I know how scared shitless I was, and I was pretty damn scared....but I didn't go. Xng and I were talking about it, I wanted to go, but decided to stay to avoid any foreseeable danger. I knew what I needed to know, and I used that to make my decision as well. Most the people that went didn't know what the hell they were protesting about. They said "Let's go represent Mexico!" Well, its not about Mexico..its about all illegal immigrants who don't pay tehir taxes and act like people and earn their citizenship. It so turns out that everyone who went is in severe trouble and have just failed a lot of their classes as a consequence for going.
While Xng and I were talking, I said I wanted to go because all my friends wanted to go...and it turns out not many of them went. I also heard that some girl got her hand cut off in a crowd, and thats just why I didn't want to go, along with the fact that if I did, I would be protesting for the wrong reason. I don't want all immigrants to be deported, and thats not going to happen. I just want those with a bad criminal record, those who dont work, and those who dont give a shit about anything should be kicked out. They've been given years now, and they should have conformed themselves already. It makes me sad to think that even half the law students went, when they should have stayed in school and earned what education they could, not going out and getting into things that they shouldn't. Some of them went to the length of sneaking out of school and joining the protest.
I just can't think of how the school will look for a few days or weeks, because it also turns out that those who went will be suspended for a while. They have just ruined their time in this great school, and now we won't get to finish what we were supposed to do, like our new case in law.
If you watch the news and see some kids in Dallas wearing green medical scrubs, they are Academy students...and they have just given our school a bad name.
