No cash for tattoos or bustle skirts, (boohoo they sound smashing!) but I can comply with the black clothes part.

Yes, the tattoo part can be expensive! Thank god for having a gifted artist as a close friend! As far as hot topic goes fuck that place! I would rather buy plain black dickies at Wal-Mart then trendy bondage pants that cost like 3x as much! I'm cheap and this is just my humble opinion though.

They were being sarcastic about the hot topic, and with the exception of few things they sell, their brand and products are generally mentioned with great contempt by actual goths. Also as has been stated plenty of times before, attaching straps made of a material of dubious strength to random parts of an article of clothing, does not make them "bondage" clothes, and in fact is in most cases useless for restraining anyone.

Oh, I don't know. Some guy once used a "bondage strap" from someone's pants to attach me to a chair at a party...

Ah, I was really hoping this was the case. «- Love this smiley btw. It makes me think, "grin and bear it."

Tattooooes! Oh yes. To be quite honest it's a constant dilemma for me when it comes to choosing between a new tattoo or some new epic article of clothing. This year, the tattoo side of the debate has won :3

Sadly, bustle skirts don't look great if you have big hips. I know, I tried. They made me look really massive on the bottom half. I have found though, that there are few things that make me feel finer than lounging around in a long silky dressing gown with messy hair while I sip tea.

I hear ya I have a big ass too, but I make it work haha, there's other Victorian style skirts that look better on girls with bums, like the ones that have the foofy bit below the knee? And haha, too right. Lazing about in fine lingerie with a good cup of tea in a pretty teacup is one of the finer things in life that comes cheap

It's not hard to hold someone down on a chair really, you could do it with a pinkie. Just as long as they don't or can't use their arms.

I agree, I would be lost if I didn't have my sweat pants. I have no fashion sense

Ya, it is very true. I suppose having a nice pair of black shoes is also good.

Goth is easy. It's all about diy and if it looks like shit nobody cares 'cause goth fashion looks like shit by nature.

I think you should take a pill. In fact, have a whole cocktail.

two rules to making a goth outfit work : match your blacks, and no crazy makeup unless you can make it PERFECT.

Bah but perfect is highly subjective. Some people still think drawing on their face is totally awesome.

The quality of ones appearance in general is subjective. you can't be completely objective about fashion, it thrives on perception and associated status.
my version of perfect "crazy" makeup (i.e. beyond my skill level to apply) is classy and dramatic. Drawing curli-cues on your face is not perfect, or crazy, it's infantile and dated (according to my perception), unless it is for a theatrical performance in which you are a porcelain doll.

Usually stripping completely naked and covering my body in black paint helps cope with my goth.

Forget about the paint, liquid latex is the way to go.

I'd have gone with tar myself. Maybe some feathers and self adhesive crystals for extra drama.

Obviously you needed stick on crystals. No one can be scary when they sparkle like a damn christmas tree.

Wouldn't you just laugh at a vajazzle though? I would. I'd also laugh at penazzle as well. That shit would make me double over with laughter.

Wait......penazzle? What the hell?

I don't think I would ever stop laughing if I saw one of those in person. I mean that silly person who got the dragon tattooed on their junk is bad enough...
