I want to alter it, or maybe turn it into a coat, I'm not too sure what to do.
Any suggestions guys?

Sew a sheep's skull to the top (on top your head), dye it neon green, and put a swastika on the back.

But seriously.... gawwfik hijabs? You kids need a new outlet for your boredom...

... put black lace trim on it? Darling, it sounds like a very interesting problem you´ve got there, and finding suggestions would be a thrilling challenge, but us Westerners don´t really know the rules and regulations for such things, so you will have to elaborate if you want an answer.

Minyaliel--Well, I don't live in the middle east, my Dad picked it up while living over there, so there's really no rules to it. I had it and thought hey I wonder what I can make. I though maybe a shirt, but I just wasn't sure if maybe there was something just a bit better to try out making.

Perhaps, but it doesn't have to be "gawwfik", and it's not out of boredom, I just thought it would be a fun thing to try to do.

you could make a large coat...
maybe with a bustle at the back to go over a ball dress?

... do you really want to cut it up?

I don't think there's a lot you can do with a burka, if that's what you're talking about. They're specifically designed to be as boring as possible.

Yeah...they're not supposed to draw attention to the person wearing them.

Good luck, anyway.

What does it look like on you?

If you had a picture that would help a lot.

If you've got no issues cutting it up, I s'pose you could've just said you had a bit of material and you wanted ideas on what to make out of it. The fact that it's a hijab is irrelevant unless you intend to preserve its hijabyness.
