Wow I am surprised at all the love for Elfen Lied. I thought you intellectuals would be above all the violence I guess I was wrong. Anyways I love elfen lied as well. But I prefer the longer version of the song Lilium but the shorter one has the best quality sound wise.

Origin: Spirits Of The Past has an amazing opening. Its not a great movie, but I can watch the opening over and over, very beautiful music and visuals. I gotta find a download for that song!

The opening of Trainspotting is pretty good, although I usually find Iggy Pop quite irritating, it worked really well. The opening of Beetlejuice is very creative, I can't really remember the music though.

I really like the music from "There Will Be Blood". I've heard a lot of people say that it was awkward, distracting, or just plain bad, but I don't see it that way. It was a strange film, and the strange soundtrack fits well.

I think radiohead's lead guitarist wrote that. It is pretty good.

I've gotta jump on the Donnie Darko bandwagon as well and add Reservoir Dogs into the mix...great stuff!

Ugh... so many...

Lock Stock and Two Loaded Barrels has one damn fine opening. It also is another example of a film-making fact: if you have access to a slow-motion camera, use it as much as possible.

Reservoir Dogs is the same; the table scene sets the tone for what these folk are like, and then the montage of them walking out lets you know exactly how badass they all are.

The opening scene of Feast makes me smile every time; I love the little footnotes for all the characters. It's unfortunate that the sequel didn't do them all at the start too, since Slasher's line of "I'm so bad you know it's good. Suck a dick everyone. I slash prices.[/i]... Well, it just fucking rocks.

Dark Knight also comes to mind, but it trails a way behind the others.

That's all that I can think of right now, at least of ones that haven't been mentioned so far.

House of 1000 Corpses:

"Fuck yo' sister..."
"3!"
"Fuck yo' grandma..."

"But most of all, FUCK YOU!!!"
Right here, between 0:00 & 8:06.
