Hello...

1. What do you do?
My hobbies are listening to music, reading, surfing the net, studying vampireism stuff like that.

2. Where are you from?
I've been born and raised in Colorado.

3. Who is your favorite author
Thats a hard one...I like Bram Stoker and Stephenie Meyer (yes I read the Twilight series)

4. What are your favorite films?
Well...I like the classics like Dracula and the Wolf Man and I like all the versions of Phantom of the Opera.

5. What music do you want to play at your wedding?
I dont really know...I guess I'll leave that to my fiancee. Lol

6. At your funeral?
I'll make that decision when it comes closer to that time.

7. This IS a gothic website so... how do you want to die?
I want to die of old age or something of that.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
I'd like a simple black casket.

9. Whats your FAVORITE outfit?
I like to keep it simple so I like just a My Chemical Romance T-shirt and jeans. Nothing special. But if I had to go to like a dance or an important dinner I'd wear a dark red or black long strapless dress you know, just to make a statement.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
I dont miss anything about being a little kid.

11. What's your favorite band?
I like those mellower bands like My Chemical Romance,Coheed & Cambria, Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold...

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I'm a junior in highschool

13. Why did you join?
I joined because this is a gothic forum and I'm goth and I hope that I can have good, professional conversations with the people on this forum.

14. If the first 13 questions dident give it away, what is your gender?
Haha...I am a female.

Hullo, and welcome. I'm new here, too, but it seems nice enough...so long as you can survive the occasional onslaught. Not really different than any other human interaction, I suppose.

Actually you aren't.
Not that that's any problem; of course anyone can be here even if they're not goth.
But you'll learn later why none of these things are goth and why it doesn't matter anyway. Just remember, you're not goth, but if that offends you, you're taking it too seriously.

Oh wow.....

You're just misunderstood. Welcome to the boards. You're NOT goth. Seriously. But that's just fine.

If, however, you want to learn about goth rock and such, you've kinda came to the right place.

So.... you like MCR?

Try The Misfits, 45 Grave, Fields of The Nephahlim. Same kind of aggression, but BETTER and not complete commercial teenie bopper tools.

Actually, I recommend SEVERAL things.

Let me link you to some SUGGESTIONS. Not in a sense of being goth, mind you, but being yourself. I am simply going to share some ideas with you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punk_rock

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_It_Yourself

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batcave_(club)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goth_Rock

All of these links are GOOD primers to look into. Digest this information and denounce those things that may deceive you into believing untruths about what you claim is your identity.

Seriously, I strongly suggest that you at least read ALL of those links to understand the thing you BELIEVE you're a part of.

You might just find you're not goth at all, but more... a product of your own design.

Yep. I agree with the others. You probably aren't really goth. Perhaps a wee bit of research is required on your end. KontanKarite gave some good links.
There is also:
http://www.sfgoth.com/primer/
http://www.razorwire.com/real-goth-faq/
(some of what they say in those web pages I find cheesy, & I don't agree with all of it, but it's a place to start.)
I am sure you can learn a thing or two about being a goth here as well, if that's what you really are interested in.

...but at this point and time, darling. I'd refrain from labeling myself as a Goth until I knew more. But whoever you are, I'm glad to have met you.

Enjoy the boards!

You're not exactly goth but you're close enough that we'll take you. Just hang around and you'll probably like what you find here. Check out my posts in the Album Dump Thread for links to some classic goth music downloads.
