Best opening Scenes and music.

Dawn Of The Dead 2004.

The man in black J.C.-When The Man Comes Around.

I think it's the best match up,and one of the best opening scenes filmed in a long time.

Cool A long time ago in a galaxy far far away ...

The opening scene that had the most impact on me was when I first saw the opening scene in Star Wars (Episode 4: A New Hope) with that iconic shot of the Star Destroyer entering from the top of the screen pursuing the Rebel Blockade Runner. This stunning imagery combined with the powerful filmscore composed by John Williams left an indellible impression on me both visually and musically !!!.

This was the first film I ever saw at the cinema, and one of my all time favourites, and brings back many golden memories !!!.

A Clockwork Orange. I just love the expression on Malcolm McDowell's face and how it ties in the music and his surroundings as the camera pans out.

Best opening scene? Easy. "The Libertine" with Johnny Depp. The entire movie starts with these lines:

"Allow me to be frank at the commencement. You will not like me. The gentlemen will be envious and the ladies will be repelled. You will not like me now and you will like me a good deal less as we go on."

Pure genious.

As for best soundtrack, I will have to say "Control". But then, I am being very biased.

Pulp Fiction. Pumpkin and Honeybunny, a diner, two guns and a whole lot of swearing. Doesn't get any better than that.

The opening music for Philosophy of a Knife is badass. In fact, that entire movie is badass.

I've said it once, and I will say it twice: THIS.

Unfortunately, they cut out the first part which stated T.S Eliots lovely lines of:

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

And then it all breaks loose into one heck of a good intro.

I may not completely agree but the award winning opening of Fellini's '8 1/2' is rated as one of the best openings of all time. It is VERY good.

Sweeney Todd had an amazing soundtrack.
The Departed had a great beginning with Jack Nicholson saying,
"I don't want to be a product of my environment, I want my environment to be a product of me".
