300pockets
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I go to school, go online, protest, etc.
2. Where are you from?
Another dimension.
3. Who is your favorite author?
Not you.
4. What are your favorite films?
Not a big film fan, more a bookish girl. I like horror.
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Classical. Romantic classical.
6. At your funeral?
I want my funeral to be a party! So, P!atD, FOB, MCR, The Used, stuff that willl make people dance. My musical tastes are below average...so...I want people to bring their own mix tapes! ^_^
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Happy.
8. What kind of casket would you want?
For presentation? I'd rent a red velvet lined black wood casket. Handles would be silver. Simple and elegant. I'd like to be cremated, so the casket could be kept for somebody else...a family heirloom of sorts?
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
My brown peasant-ish dress, moleskin bodice, mini-jacket, castro cap, stompy boots, and a messenger bag.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
All the Victorian dresses.
11. What's your favorite band?
My Chemical Romance, The Used, Panic! at the Disco, Mercy Drive, Papa Roach, I don't have just one. Music isn't my life...
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
In high school. I want to study aerospace engineering.
13. Why did you join?
I felt like I might as well post instead of just leech.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Find out on your own. -_^

You know, you might get castrated for those musical tastes, but oh well. Hi.

Die happy? Dude, there is no such thing as "happy". Only depressed, and depressed but with poetry.
I'm kidding.

*shudders at musical tastes*
Despite that, I -do- like the idea you have for your funeral, and that you got to dress Victorian as a kid. That's pretty cool. ^_^
But seriously...Papa Roach? MCR? Swinging names like that around this forum -may- get you crucified. [Though I myself have been known to listen to a bit of both in my time, before I started researching Goth and Metal bands.]
Lessee...if you like MCR, you might like the Bauhaus, and if you like Papa Roach, maybe you'd like Type O Negative or Tiamat. [The first is 'Goth', the second two are more metal, but all are fairly decent. ]
Edit: As for gender, I'm gonna say that you're a girl; you don't really give off a male-ish type vibe..

I'm burning from the inside. You compared Bauhaus (there's no "the" either) to probably the most schlocky, unaccomplished band in the history of the world. Repent! Repent! They share NOTHING in common.

Heh heh. You're right.
*goes to buy a goat to sacrifice at the black temple as penance for her sin against the great demigod Peter Murphey..*
For serious though, I'm not sure what the classic Goth equivalent of MCR would be..x_x;;;
That being said, it brought me a bit of perverse pleasure when MCR got food poisoning for trying to tour the States with Muse as their opening band. >_<
Muse should have to open for no one. ESPECIALLY MCR. >_< [I know Muse isn't Goth, but dammit, the demon Bellamy has my soul. Or at least part of it.
The primal part, actually..]

Yeah, this list is so bad that after I finished reading it, I looked down and noticed that my anus was bleeding.

You're neither pretentious nor immature, as far as I can tell. Plus, I like a small joke to be thrown around on occasion. SO, I like you. Accept it and be happy (or depressed with poetry, whichever you prefer).

Yeah, sorry about that...I gotta get music...and a warning label for that.
I've never bought a CD ever.
All my music is from burnt CD's from middle school friends when they were xXxhXcsXcsXeemoxcorexXx ...
Oops, did I say 'were'?

Meh. My musical tastes are awful, I like being happy, but I hope that isn't against the rules...</sarcasm>
I'm really nerdy/geeky...not into fashion, music, poetry much, I don't have any 'Goth' friends, or even emo friends for that matter...most of my friends are either jocks (gasp) or nerds. Meh. All just labels.

Heh. Perhaps they are, but you'll learn your way around.
I have a few recommendations for your music problem, i. e., free Internet radio. Just find an artist that sounds interesting from the music forum, and plug the name into one of these:
Pandora Radio
Slacker Radio
Also, check out Crimson Circle Radio on Live365.com radio.
If you need more help, feel free to ask! ^^

If you're bookish, then where's the laundry list of authors? That's not good.

My distaste for you isn't based on the music you like or the fact that you like to be happy. I'm sure the majority of the members here wouldn't approve of my music either, and I'm one happy freaking person as well.
This is what rubbed me the wrong way:

That's a real fucking elitist thing to say. For all you know, any one of us could be renouned authors. Aside from that, considering that this is meant to be a literary forum, and since you're a "bookish girl," it would be FABULOUS if you would at least offer a few authors of interest instead of being an ass about it.

Happy people are necessary. I can't be truly mopey and melancholy unless I have someone around to contrast with. I like happy people.
I don't know if I'd call "not you" an elitist answer. It's kind of snarky, but not really mean-spirited. The OP probably just got bored of writing answers and went for something they thought was funny.

Even without the "not you" remark, it still does not fly with me. For being a bookish girl, she could at least list a few authors that she particularly likes. I know it's difficult to choose a favorite, but five names would be more helpful than zero.

Okay. If you like MCR... well... hmmm...
Alright, fuck it. Check out Tragic Black and All Gone Dead.
Yeah, I like em. Anyone wanna fight about it?

'not you' is a reference to all the people on MySpace that go
"omzg I lyk, ttly wrote this new hXc (hardcore if u didn't know cuz I'm just that hXc kk) poemz, read it!!!11!!"
and when you read it, it's some copy-pasted poem that you can find from googling a line or two in quotes.
Authors?
Poe (duh)
Madeline L'Engle
Phillip Pullman
Ursula LeGuin
Gregory Maguire
Voltaire
Dan Brown
I mostly read non-fiction though...
I was trying to get the survey done quickly as possible. For some reason, I was unable to post anything else in this forum, the server thought I was trying to post links, and I wasn't...there was nothing remotely looking like a link in my post...so I did the sampler survey, it posted, yay me. I didn't think people actually read these though...
Anyways, if I insulted you, I'm not apologizing or anything. I wasn't trying to insult you...I'm sorry that you took it the way you did. I was trying to fill that out AFAP, it was the first thing that popped into my head after having a load of emo kids ask me to read their blog posts 'because lyk I have so mani frends!!11!!' so...

Heh. The contradiction made me giggle.
Anyway, I'm not starting anything. Like I said before, welcome to the boards and what not. Enjoy it while you can before you get sick of the drama.
