Preparing for a zombie invasion...
OK, the zombies are coming. Some are slow moving, some are kinda fast. They don't seem to have a lot of wit or reasoning. Time to prepare for our survival, so what do we do?
We're going to need food, water, self defense, and a place to hide so that we can regroup.
What's your plans and can I trust you?

Gather a group of people, get some guns, and enter a store. That's my suggestion.

Chop off Rose McGowan's leg and replace it with an assault rifle.

Bar all the windows and shut out the light... lol. 'Course you can trust me, Kontan. I won'y be running away in a hurry, being as fascinated with these beings as I am with elves, werewolfs, pixies and vampires... bring'em on!

Oh, by the way, bring torches. Torches are good.

You guys know that guns are really loud and have a limited amount of ammo.
I suggest we find a small town and if we MUST use guns, use silencers and assure that they are pretty much sniper rifles. I would recommend using a crowbar for self defense. If you can actually find a good sword such as a kitana would be a good bet. We would have limited ammo regardless for guns. A weapon needs to be light, a weapon needs to be used over and over.
Cities will probably shut off power and water in the knee jerk reaction of emergencies, so we'll need to stock up on provisions. I suggest we figure out a way to filter out natural water once they shut down the water.

Did you all just ignore what I posted?! Really, the best way to fight the undead is to find cool main character types and replace their limbs with weapons. Evil Dead, anyone? Bruce Campbell with a chainsaw arm?
Groovy.

Civil emergency contingency;
1. Trust no one.
2. Dispense of sentimentality. It will only put you at risk.
3. In one's spare time, accumulate supplies.
* clean water
* sustainable food
* source of generation of electricity
* functional communications equipment
4. Weapons for defense, and the knowledge of how to use them.
* martial skill, and the willingness to use it.
5. NEVER let anyone know your level of preparedness/capability.
6. Stay with your own "tribe". People you are already familiar with, those who you already have established relationships with. ... that being said...
7. TRUST NO ONE.
Follow the above behavior, and you will have a chance of surviving Zombies, military invasion, high-energy-weapon event, terrorism, civil insurrection, urban warefare, etc...

We defiantly need to set traps.
Obviously since zombies are stupid this should be no problem.
We could have a person in a room tied to a chair (Preferably someone smart and has a big juicy brain) then when the zombie(s) enter the room. BOOM! You give ‘em a shotgun sandwich.

You guys are thinking way too much. All I'd need is a cool leather jacket, plenty of cigars, a double barreled shotgun and a slew of catch phrases. Oh, and the car from Road Warrior.
Planning. Pfft.

. Light Canvas/cloth to filter rainwater
. Machete and sharpening /whetstone
. Trip wires. If they have little wit or reasoning we can set up tripwires to bring the fuckers down in droves, then lay into them with weapons.
. Flame thrower and crossbow. Emergencies only.
. Non-perishable foods. Dried/preserved meats or saltfish. Dry goods like biscuits, chocolate bars ( for energy ) crackers , dry packet soups and noodles, powdered milk and other such foods.
. Water containers/bottles and backpacks for use on the move.
. Army surplus sleeping bags. They keep you alive in really cold temps.
. Walkie talkies for emergencies ( If you can get hold of them )

Well, theyre most deadly when they cluster you, so if your not using a gun, you'll need something long like a golf club or a bass guitar, also I suggest an axe for getting through doors.
Still I have a while to prepare as I dont think they'll spread to England very easily.

Trenches can work as well. If you have the man power and cooperation, you can dig 7 foot trenches across streets to slow them down, maybe light them on fire when they're in the trenches.
You want to stay quiet because you don't want to attract attention to yourself.
Leather works well and so do motorcycle helmets because they are tough material an hard to tear, even with undead human jaws.

I wouldn't tell you my plans, and you DEFINITELY couldn't trust me. I wouldn't trust anyone in that situation. It's not like everyone would just go nuts, but in extreme circumstances people act how they normally wouldn't.

Well, the reason I've brought this up is because in Louisville, there's a random occurrence where zombies (people in costume), invade the streets. It's kinda odd. So far, they haven't been too bad, but I ran into one at my apartment a few days ago.

Well... there's zombies that invade Louisville... 0_0
I don't know why, it's just random madness. But it happens... apparently.

Sounds like fun xD
I wish someone would do something like that around here... But then, someone would probably be killed.

For reasons unknown, I find that highly amusing, and highly awesome. I'd like for people to zombie-invade my town.

Just leave town. They're slow, and they'll be too busy feasting on everyone else if you head off to a remote, low-populated area.
Of course, you can expect to have car troubles if you do that, so plan ahead.

A number of major cities have 'Zombie Walks'. We have ours in October. They're lotsa fun. Last year we had zombies attack our car so that we could video tape it from the inside.
This year I'm gonna be zombified, but more of a cybernetic zombie. Instead of exposed bone, I'll have exposed circuitry. I know that cybernetic zombies do not make sense, but that's what I plan on doing anyway.
