Merry meet, all
Greetings! My name is Skye. I am fifteen years old and attending high school. I live in the state of Pennsylvania in the USA, surrounded by Amish and farms. My favorite author of all time is Anne Rice (no surprise there), but I read almost any fiction out there. Favorite films include Across The Universe, Phantom of the Opera, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and many others.
The music I want played at my wedding is "Temple of Love" by Sisters of Mercy and the muisc I want played at my funeral is "Heartbeat of the Earth" by Inkubus Sukkubus.
I would prefer to die painlessly in my sleep or in the heat of pure ecstasy. I would want a mahogany casket. I have too many bands I love to choose out of all of them. The thing I miss most about being little is not having to go to school.
I plan to attend college, working with languages, photography, literature, and music. I joined this site to make some friends because not many people are willing to know me and I enjoy talking to intellectuals, which are in scant supply. I don't really care about what people think of me.
And to let you know, I'm a girl. Do drop by and say hello. I can't wait to get to know you.

In what way was that pre-emptive...?
He was already a jerk-off. Rudely demanding someone to name bands so you can then judge them is just douchebaggery.
He easily could have said, "So what sorts of music do you like?" if he wanted to be kind about it.

Depends on the context you want to take it, Ophie. We don't know the tone in which he says it. He could have been encouraging her to name some of her fav bands. He could very well be trying to be a douche. We can't know and that's why it's pretty pre-emptive.

No matter how he meant it, it's fucking rude to talk to anyone like that. You don't just demand things of people, you ask them politely.

Funny. I wasn't talking about weather it was rude or not. I was talking about you being pre-emptive.
But whatever. It's trivial.

Maybe he was in a rush? I know I shorten a lot of my messages when I'm in a rush but want to leave a message.
Welcome, as well.
Oh, and please ignore the bickering. Could you elaborate on your musical tastes for us? Cheers.

I have yet to see STOD being rude in a intro thread..
The real question is who gives a fuck?

Neither have I.
And Ophelia does for unknowns.

I always care when people are rude about things like that. We know that everyone here is just crazy about letting people know that they are allowed to like a band if they realize they're not goth.
I hate that bullshit.

I dunno, it didn't exactly strike me as rude. But alas, maybe you have better intuition than most.

Welcome to the Boards! You seem pretty cool.
Ignore the drama if you can; most of it is nonsensical. ^^;;;

Relax. It's just something I said. Corpsey was right, I just shorten a few messages every once in a while.

Oh, shut up.
Where in Pennsylvania? I was just down in amish country (Lancaster) for Easter. My grandmother apparently likes living down there.

For an instant there, I thought "Don't be a jerkoff, jerkoff" was a band.....
I understand what they're saying, but I have a feeling people do that instinctively if they're music lovers. Like I instantly got flamed for liking MCR in the beginning, and had to redeem myself...

Welcome, dear, please ignore the rudeness. Bickering is the one thing that hasn't changed in the time I've been gone.
heartofflames, don't feel bad. I'm actually a fan of My Chem myself. I know that they aren't Goth, but that doesn't mean I can't like them. I mean, I absolutely love YUI, and that's extremely way off target for goth. One can't like only Goth bands. I also listen to French rap, for a good laugh.
