Mildly amusing to confuse them by talking to them about squirrel hotpots at first - then just a total piss off.
I used to tell them "Sure! Wanna see my pussy?"...and send them a picture of a cat.

Sounds more like a measure so that the moderators don't have to do their damn jobs. Users can be blocked, and trolls can be banned.

Yeah, there have been a couple of persistently annoying trolls who were never banned anyway. Self-moderation is cool with me, but it doesn't really square with quality-control as a reason for not allowing PMs.

100 posts would do fine, I think.

I've found and noticed many other, arbitrary and annoying as hell rules which exist for, as far as I can tell, no goddamn reason.

It's like Gnet is constantly trying to make me hate the world and everything in it...

WAIT that's it! Gnet is torturing us on purpose. It's giving us extra angst so that we may become even gothier!

Well played you fucking website. Well played...

He posted 135 posts on his first day, so i think 300 are pretty ok

So what is the exact amount of posts required?

500? or was that just a guess?

It's significantly less than that, and if you don't participate enough here to make the minimal requirement, there doesn't seem to be a strong justification for allowing private messages. This isn't your personal phone book, it's a participatory forum. Also, if you can't manage to express yourself using all of ten characters, you really should consider the value of your contribution. I mean, let's count down from 1000? Seriously?

Personally I am really happy about the post requirements for PMs, it wasn't always there and I was really getting sick of having to clean out my inbox every time that I logged in because of messages from noobs who had never even interacted with me.
