Great Choice.
I loved my History of Film class. All we did was watch amazing old movies, the only 2 that I somewhat disliked or couldn't stand was "400 blows" and "The Bicycle Thief."
Apart from that the rest of the movies were amazing.. those 2 though.. I was bored out of my bleedin' mind.

Ponyo in the theater - cute, but severly overrated.
Just watch Amelie last night though...that movie makes me feel so right.

Ponyo is not overrated. It's as good as any of Miyazaki's classics, like My Neighbor Totoro or Kiki's Delivery Service.
I honestly think it deserves the degree of credit it gets.
(Last night I watched 'Charlie Bartlett', great movie, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, and Katt Williams: American Hustle)

Just finished watching The Sinister Urge. One of the funnier Ed Wood movies, if only because it treats porn like a drug. It leads to killers and the mafia!
Inglorious Basterds tomorrow! Ponyo isn't playing in St.John's at all *sad*

"A Comedy of Terror." Funny and with an amazing cast (Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone).

The Black Dahlia - it was, um...
You know, what I liked I really liked, but what I didn't like I hated.
I loved Fiona Shaw in it, though.

The Addams Family-haven't seen it in ages and now remember how much I like it. I remember being 10 going on 11 & having a mimi-poster of it on my wall. The logo/title glowed in the dark & I thought it was so cool. Sigh-wish I still had it.

Ah, that's one of my very favourites! It has such a finely crafted ambiguity, especially near the end, and it's one of the best-cast movies I've ever seen.

lol, you'd better stock up on lightbulbs : )
I always wanted a marriage like Morticia's and Gomez's. They seemed like the perfect family role models; every other sit-com family spent their half hour sniping at each other and sleeping in twin beds. The Addamses were supportive and affectionate, and you just know that bed of nails was getting some interesting use. Come to think of it, when the moonlight hits just right Mr S looks a bit like Gomez, especially in a pin-striped suit...
