"Devil Nights" - Electric Six

Spending all your money on the electric light, handing over your last dollar just to make the devil see

A great song that always puts me in the mood for clubbing. I wish I was going out tonight. It's only Tuesday but I really wish it was the weekend.

So you like listening to angry, noisy stuff while writing papers too, eh? Nothing like a bit of screaming, chaos and abrasive guitar riffing to get the ol' synapses firing. Currently writing a paper on Northern Ireland.

I'm currently hearing "Dopethrone" by Electric Wizard.
All morning long I've been listening to various different and new (sometimes old) darkwave, gothic, and punk bands:
Bauhaus, Christian Death, Clan of Xymox, Cruxshadows, Nick Cave, Siouxsie, Cinema Strange, Alien Sex Fiend, Wumpscut, VNV Nation... and so on and blah blah blah.

Binkie,

I love that piece of music, have you heard the Savatage instrumental `Prelude to Madness` (Hall of the Mountain King, 1987), which is a metal version of `Hall of the Mountain King` , its really good.

I actually hadn't heard this one before. I went and checked it out after your mention of it here and it's a very kick-ass version adapted to metal. \m/

Have you heard Apocalyptica's metal rendition of "In the Hall of the Mountain King?" That's definitely another one worth checking out.

Nymphetamine Overdose - Cradle of Filth

If anyone's got the special edition nymphetamine album they'll have this one. It's basically the normal one with additional verses (although not repeats of the same). It's absolutely brilliant!
