It's got an even worse lot of superficial 'alt models' with bad cases of the angles than myspazz. Not cool.

I will never pass through that place.

It's a website where whiney emos bitch about how much they hate judgemental people, and rate other users by their appearance.

I had a profile once, just because I wanted to flame some bitch that had stolen my handle and was giving it a bad name. In the first couple days I got about ten emails saying "u so hott i fuck u."

Magotty, in your profile pic are those old-school welding goggles resting on your hat?

Vampire freaks is one of the worst places on the face of the internet. It's almost a step down from Myspace which is the epitome of all evil in my opinion.

I see I'm not the only steamgoth here.

They look exactly like this but with darker unmarked lenses. They were my mothers, she said they were for mountain climbing.

Nice goggles, I don't dress steampunk, but I like reading comics based on the setting.

Vampirefreaks recently opened up a storefront here in New York.
I carry a brick in my pocket now.
Every time I pass the store, I grip that hard, heavy rectangle a little more tightly, a little longer.

Very cool. I've got a pair of welding goggles from the '40s that I used as motorcycle goggles when I had a working bike. They're cobbed together with superglue, old scraps of leather, and pieces of wire coat-hangers, but they look badass.

Have you got any other pieces of steampunk-ish wardrobe?

Um, let's see, my entire wardrobe. My tophat, bowler and trenchcoat are my staple peices, but I also have granny boots, an amazing utility skirt, an aviator cap I think someone died in, lots of psuedo-victorian mourning clothes and some honking great skeleton keys on a ring which could easily be lifted off my belt when I'm sleeping. I'm going to make a steampunk thread in the fashion forum now, so stop posting here.

Be careful. Innocent bystandards could easily misinterpret your clandestine brick squeezing as something more puerile.

"Does that guy have a brick in his pocket or does he just really like Vampirefreaks?"

:O I want those! *cries*

I'd also like a pair of antique sunglasses.
I should ask my dad if he has any old camera filters that he doesn't use.

I registered, then realised what a hellish place it was. Couldn't be bothered to delete my account though.

Maggoty Anne, I love your avi!
It's Edward Gorey - The Gashlycrumb Tinies, yes?

That's why I'm here. Plus I hate how people kept forgetting they punk element. It's a dystopian, like cyberpunk should be, not a cosplaying thing. Do you really want child labour, the class system we had, tuberculosis?

Yes, of course. I was going to use the illustration of The Dreadful Story of Pauline and the Matches, from Strewwelpeter (Shock-Headed Peter), but I decided this would be more recognisable.
