Boredom Stikes Again

Mental restlessness combined with physical laziness. Oof.

What do you guys do to cure this ailment?

Usually I research schools that I might want to go to someday or career paths I might want to go down. Wow, what an exciting life I lead! Seriously though I've exhausted that boredom killer for the day, so I'm making a stupid thread that will hopefully entertain me for a bit

(God forbid I actually go out and get some FRESH AIR on my sunny day off)

Pretty much all of my close friends nerd out about video games constantly. I'm just too inept with a controller to do much so I always just watch.

Assuming you want as little mental effort as possible:maybe you should try solitaire? Or you could try to find this really old game called Dopewars, it's awesome in a "I can't believe I've been sitting here for 3 hours" kind of way. Plants vs. Zombies is also a winner

You could take up a hobby, sewing, knitting, painting, jewelry making, doll crafting, gardening, welding, writing of stories, model aircraft, rc cars, hunting, archery, or perhaps take up an instrument.

If all else fails, listen to this song.

Read books! I'm reading a beginners guide to quantum physics myself. I also make things when I'm bored, collages, jewellery, hair decorations, fancy bookmarks etc etc. Making stuff is a total time suck, you don't notice how long you've been at it.

YES.

Also I really should read more. When I was young I would tear through book after book but haven't really sat down with a book in a good while, let alone finished one.

As for hobbies, I like to work on the various art projects I have going but sometimes I just need to get away from them for awhile. (Though I haven't touched any in a few days so I might just be making lame excuses at this point!)

Go outside and wander around aimlessly. Pick a direction and meander along, turning wherever you please, just try not to get lost but if you do stop and ask for directions.

^ Take a camera if you have one. You can get some amazing pictures when you aren't looking for them just by wandering around.

So true, you can also find some fabulous people and places, especially if you follow your nose to a restaurant.

I wander the internet. It seems now there are few corners I haven't visited.

I do love aimless wandering, but I ended up getting some embroidery floss and making friendship bracelets!

I get stoned. If I'm so bored even this can't make me not mind, I usually end up writing something of some variety, or going on Youtube, searching the name of bands I like, and seeing what people who've uploaded their videos have also got up. Works pretty well; I've actually found some great music this way, including Can, Blue Oyster Cult and The Dark.

I love making lists.

I know what you mean. Sure there are things to do, but I don't want to. In fact, I am getting pissed off at the people I play Mafia Wars with. Yep, I send people parts for their Cider House and now it is a couple of days and no reciprocation. Ya, just being total dill-holes.

Yep, even though involving gaming thought it was whiny enough for this thread.
