Goths in cartoons

I've noticed that alot of cartoons have goths in them now. I know theres one with a ghost boy that has a goth in it on YTV. Teletoon has a whole bunch of shows with goths in them. I don't remember there being goths in the cartoons I used to watch. I wonder why all of a sudden they're putting goths in all the new cartoons.

They usually put stereotypical goths, not real goths.

Aye, the same with TV shows. That pair in Coronation Street (UK soap) were atrocious...

I'm not saying that they're good, I'm just saying they're popping up far more often.

I was thinking Mandy as well. Then there's Invader Zim and the boy's sister.

But I think Invader Zim was intentionally goth or at least... kinda rivety.

I especially think so, because the creator would deny that wholeheartedly and then bite your eyes out.

But yes, I think there has been a rise in these characters, since the old Beetlejuice cartoon.

Yes, because all things that were the greatest in goth were never intentional and completely accidental. ^__^

One of Voltaire's songs was used to introduce "The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy"... That pretty much states that the cartoon itself is Goth influenced. I can't remember which song though...

Don't forget that guy off Big Wolf On Campus! Even if it wasn't a cartoon it was kinda meant to be seen by the same demographic.

"Brains!" And it wasn't used to introduce it, I don't think, it was featured in an episode where a monster was eating everyone's brain.

It's from the TV-show 'Angel', the episode "Smile Time".

Yeah. Probably one of the most goth characters because although not dressed as a goth her attitude pretty much covers for that.

Sam Manson from Danny Phantom has an Einsturzende Neubauten poster in her bedroom. And Gaz from Invader Zim looks pretty scene.

That song was used as the basis for that episode, but the Cartoon Network movie, "Billy & Mandy's Big Boogy Adventure" V did the opening credits song.

Goth Cartoons...Well, I used to draw cartoons myself. In animation there'd be...Well, already mentioned but...

Many from Billy and Mandy, as mentioned Voltaire's infulence on the show gives it elements.

Gaz from Invader Zim, by a goth favourite artist, Jhonen Vasquez.

Sam from Danny Phantom.

Poe from the Teletubbies (he's a total outcast)

Methedrine from Gothic.net: the series (HE LOOKS LIKE ANDREW ELDRITCH)

Creepie from Growing Up Creepie (some new show, idk d00d)

And basically the lovely feedings in the old Beetlejuice cartoon.

G'oh yeah, but he'd have to be surrounded by a looad of geeks to deny it. Obviously he'll admit it when you get him alone.

The person I speaking of was originally going to remain nameless, but I'll reveal his name:

Mr Scolex. a.k.a Bob Dylan.
