I've got a formula around here somewhere that's supposed to help. Don't think I've ever used it though. hm....here we go.

First you need to set out a bowl or something and catch some rain. Then, however much rain you catch, squeeze the the same amount of juice out of some grapes, preferrably unripe. Mix it, boil it, and let half of it evaporate. Then, add as much lemon juice as had been evaporated of the mixture. let it boil and then leave it to cool and add egg whites. I usually use 4 for every liter or so. Whatever you don't use store it in a sealed capsule.

I think it is also supposed to whiten skin, but like I said before, I've never used it.

Hope it was atleast a smidgeon helpful.

ps- you'll get killed here if you keep that MM sig. He's not exactly a favourite. Just a fair warning.

Well, besides aloe vera and whatever other remedies you can come up with, just make sure to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water, and put lotion/aloe on the burn several times a day, it'll help it heal easier. Other than that there's not much I can tell you, sorry.

I like Marilyn Manson, but he's not gothic. If you keep that in mind, then there's no problem.

Are you serious? Did you think Manson was gothic?
So, is Kiss gothic then?
I mean, they wear make-up and even spit blood every now and then, right?

When my cousin used to get burned a lot, she used cold sour cream. Indeed it worked. I never used this because I don't get burned so that's all the advice I can give you.

There's a little ol' place down the board somewhere called the 'Help Thread'.

It is your friend.

Peace out.

Maybe if you wear sunblock(45spf) and protective clothes you can prevent future sunburn.
Also the sun causes premature aging of the skin AND skin cancer. Well anyway, I guess this a smart thing to know...

i live in south africa! even if you dont wanna get burned, you do...
take a cup full of white vinigar and some rosemary oil and dump it in your bath water. it'll burn like a bitch for a few mintues, be resist the urge to get out! soak for 20 mins and most of the discomfort should be gone...

Fresh natural live unflavoured yoghurt will help with sunburn.
It gets moisture back into your skin, and the live culture bacteria help stop infection getting in if you have burnt bad enough to blister/peel.

And you don't want infection in raw skin getting in, because it can lead to blood poisoning, and that aint nice.

I use cocoa butter. It eases the pain, but unfortunatly it only comes in stick form, which is somewhat painful in the application.

Sunburn is horrible. Main reason I attempt to stay inside during the summer. But I hear that the outside world has things like non-human creatures, which would be interresting to experience.

There's this stuff called Ocean Potion and it's gell like and smells like peppermint. It's made specifically for that. Either that use aloe straight from the plant itself.

Lotion/aloe works quite good. But I hardly ever get burned so I don't know some good recipes. When you wear sunblock, spf 45 is good, black clothing cankeep you safer. It blocks out some of the UV rays. Atleast that's what I heard.

In short- as the other lovely people have suggested- use something cold, preferably something that'll cling well to your skin- hence the dairy products- and avoid the sun.
Stay out of the sun while sunburned otherwise you'll just make everything worse. Keep cool- even if the temperature doesn't help appearances, it'll make you feel better. If aloe isn't working well for you, don't bother with it again. You might want to ask your local pharmacist for advice on a good aftersun lotion.
