Well sorry I was just refering to why I liked them. I myself am just under five foot & all my friends tower over me.I need a boost! Fair enough the fierce comment sounded stupid. I've had mine for around a year & they've only scuffed a little. If you are just looking for a nice pair of sensible boots they aren't hard to find. They became really fashionable during autum/winter apparently. If you are looking for gothic style boots then check out Demonia & Pleaser. Most of them aren't large or clunky like N.Rs.

How tall are you? I'm 1 meter 78, and I wouldn't want to look any taller. I'm already taller than a lot of men I know, and I don't think wearing high heels would look good on me (besides, I've never worn really high heels, so I'm pretty sure I can't walk on them ).

Boots, boots, beautiful boots... sorry, I went off into a daze then! *wink*
If I had enough money I'd have a different pair of boots for every day of the month! As it is, I only own four pairs (not counting my crappy work boots) but I have my eye on several pairs at this site: http://www.pennangalan.co.uk/
*wanders off to look at pretty boots...*

Deviant,
I have those boots from Pennangalan, except with commando soles (I don't do platforms). They're good boots - very soft leather - but you definitely can't be in a hurry when you put them on.
I'm also 1.78 meters, and quite happy at that height. I like being tall, but I don't have any desire to tower over people.

Glad to hear they're good quality :-) I'm quite rough on boots, so they need to be able to withstand the bashing they inevitably get! I'm only 5' 4" (I think that's 1.64 metres) so I like a bit of a platform sole *grin*

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Or will I need New Rocks?
NB: I don't mean any offense to people who wear Converse or New Rocks.

Y'know, I've got the same dilemma myself. Where I'm from, there's not one bloody place where you can get a pair of boots, so I've also been wearing converse. Sucks, huh? The best way for me to get it is online or if someone's generous enough to get me a pair from away.... *sighs*

I suffer from this too...I've searched many stores, and I've barely found something acceptable ...
So, now I've got to wear my good ol' converse and my combat boots.(Don't get me wrong I love all the combat boots that I have...it's just that I wish there were a bigger variety to choose from)

I make sure to double bag my feet, and I just wear kleenex boxes with the ends cut off for extra comfort for my feet.

There's so much diversity within 'goth' that I really wouldn't worry about it too much. I DO NOT LIKE Stompy Boots. I won't wear them. I *really* won't wear Converse. It's stilettoes all the way with me. Black ones, but other than that, they're not particually 'goth', really. It works because of the other stuff I'm wearing. As was in some advert or song or something-"It's just the way you wear them, baby..."

Yep, cute, girly skirts and big fuck-off boots look AWESOME together! I wore a lacey black dress and a pair of new rocks to my cousin's wedding a couple of years ago - it looked fab but all my elderly relatives were like "oh, you're ruining that dress with those boots dear..." ;-P
I love the way stilettoes look, but they make my feet hurt so I'll stick to my stompy boots! :-D

Good look. You feel feminine, but in a could-kick-your-ass-without-breaking-a-sweat kinda way.

Now these are some sexy boots!
I think these are hot but I have no doubt I'd somehow manage to break my legs in them.

Well, seeing how they come up the middle of your shin, and it seems like they're pretty tight, I'd say all you'd have to do was take a step, trip, and break your leg bone. Woohoo!

Well treading on someone's feet would hurt a fair bit in those.
