If your mom looked like that in the 80's then maybe she should have been the one to make a video about goth style.

I'm really confused as to how that is in any way a retort

Because I am tired of people living in the 80's. What's so wrong with being open to different ideas? There has been a lot of negativity. Some people like it.

The only thing wrong with being open to new ideas, is that your ideas all suck.

Personally I'm tired of people telling us how to live and dress...

No one has to dress this way if they don't want too. It is more a guide to improve outfits. Personally, I don't actually own any clothes with that stripe thing on the seems, but it looks good. Gives the outfit some personality.

But the people living in the 80's aren't tired of it and I also think it's a safe bet that they wouldn't drop it all and take advice from someone whose fashion sense is nothing more than laughable when being called goth. By all means, try your damnedest, but what would appeal to these people more? Bland lameness or creative DIY aesthetic?

Well they use more belt buckles; however, in real life no one dresses like that anymore. Maybe if they are an entertainer, or going to the club. That isn't a good kind of attention. Even then, your average person toned it way down.

Well, sure people tone it down, but not the the point of complete and utter blandness. From watching your video I didn't see any evidence of "giving outfits some personality". I don't know what your definition of personality is when it comes to clothes, but looking at those outfits in your video just bored me to death. In my own opinion, using DIY techniques gives any old bland piece of clothing the utmost pesonality. Slap the name of a band you like on the leg of a pair of jeans with paint, bleach, or a homemade patch of some sort, pin 'n patch a jacket, write "R.I.P." on a t-shirt and then rip the sleeves off or something. No one will have anything exactly like it. Sure, they can copy it, but thats not likely given the endless amount of things that ANYone can do to self-alter their clothes to make them their own.

Is 'too' supposed to be a pun or did you just spell 'two' incorrectly?
The tips weren't that great and if you indeed continue to make these shorts about your particular sense of fashion, for god's sake, do not post examples where you are having trouble with implementing it.
You spent too much time, messing with those chains and failing to get them on properly over and over, and the result wasn't that great and so I am in no way inclined to ever use that idea. A more effective use of time would be demonstrating different patterns and such you could arrange the chains in, or you could have actually shown me something useful about buttons.
You could have also tried multiple takes with doing the chains so that you made the application of them to the outfit appear seamless and easy.

A reminder of just how lame people can be. Hilarious, but also rather sad.

"Too" means "also" so it could be read, "Catch Goth Style Also." I hate explaining jokes. Glad some people have a better sense of humor.
I don't want people to imatate what I do, just helpful ideas to give their own style some more individuality.

That is possibly one of the worst "jokes" I have ever heard, and I've heard a great many shit jokes.

Um... I look like that quite a bit as my own personal layman look. Not the excessive belt buckle thing, but a deffinate deathrock look, though I get confused for a punk a lot. So not all average people go around in simple black slacks and simple black tees.

So I wasn't the only one bothered by her flailing about with the chains?
Seriously, the outfits you display are very bland and as others have said devoid of personality, most of them bubble down to "normal" outfits, simply in mostly black.
