I think their music is boring... but then, I havenīt found one band of this genre that I could admit being fond of. I donīt know what it is that bothers me about it - possibly that I never really feel as if I canīt predict whatīs going to happen next in the song and that it somehow feels slightly mass produced... I donīt know :P

No, just unhealthily trained to analyze whatever I listen to. I often stop to wonder what note that noise the metro makes is, or what pitch the buzzing from the fridge is. (It is usually around a G or a Bb, by the way.)

Hehe, I like Dir en Grey. Visual Kei is an interesting genre, and I like a lot of their imagery and music, though they peaked in their early-mid stuff.

Its hard to pinpoint them... originally they were very Visual Kei, and they've definitely evolved from that.

I used to listen to Dir en grey, but then I realized they were just kind of a perversion of everything that was popular in the American Nu-Metal scene. They're pretty crazy though, a student of mine told me that they were fined once for putting on a TV performance that was deemed too grotesque.
Kyo cuts himself with razors, scratches his chest, does fish hooking, and coughs up blood on stage.
