Ooo, what color are you thinking instead (for your wedding dress)?

We all can find inspiration in the strangest places...

I could easily picture you in this style of dress:

Front

Back

I'd personally want something in this type of style, although I think I'd go with a tastful red and a veil of sorts, just one of those really cute ones that only cover half the face, and some striking red lipstick.. I know, not very original I'm sure. I'm just trying to prove how frickin' gawffik I am..

Sorry EPS, Wise Child is now locked up in my house. I guess that means the adoption will have to go on the back burner for a while.

i think all white could be great, but only if it goes with your skin tone and you use dramatic styling. Also, any accesories and makeup must be perfect, or the screwed up part will stand out a lot more than with darker colors. Definitely an interesting idea though.

Isn't it being done? Not to say thats unoriginal or anything, but I think I have seen some goths turn to white. Personally, I think its a lot freakier than seeing someone in all black.

As for the wedding dress, I've heard a rhyme about this:
Married in white, life is a delight,
Married in yellow, will lose a fellow,
Married in gray, forever be gay,
Married in black, he'll never come back,
Married in blue, many blessings for you.

...Or something like that.

I don't think size matters, so much as whether the colour suits a person's skin tone. I know a beautiful, beautiful girl who is quite large and has been known to wear all white. Layers of floaty fabric. Somehow she managed to make it look really gothy and she was exquisite, ethereal and... other nice words starting with 'e'.

All white seems like it'd be interesting. I've seen a few pictures, like the woman on the index page of http://blackrose.co.uk

I think she's quite beautiful.

I don't know. Light colours don't suit me. I'd rather my wedding dress be dark wine red, and/or black. Preferably something with a corset style top and bell sleeves.

I'm getting married in april (only 2 months to go!) and have got myself a black dress with a huge train, and have ordered deep red roses for with it, I love it. I think people would be more surprised if I turned up in a white dress.

If you want to wear all white and you have the skin tone to pull it off then go for it, forget what other people think. Like the others said it will be cooler in summer if you live somewhere hot too.

Damn...I wore black!

On the original topic, though - In Within Temptation's video Ice Queen, she wears a white dress. Parts of the video show a dark room with white drapes and candles - I love the effect. She also wears a white dress in Mother Earth...

I used to yearn for an ethereal, ghostly look - a long, white, floaty dress and pure white hair, plus jet black eyeliner as the only contrast. I have very pale skin so I thought it'd look pretty spooky and interesting. Then I realised that if I bleached my hair (naturally a very dark brown) pure white it would probably turn to straw and/or fall out! Plus I'm too messy to wear white - I'm always getting mud/food/random stains on my clothes and at least with black it doesn't show up as much! ;-)

Kali Maxwell, is that Dani Filth in your avatar? Yum! *grins*

I tried going blonde once, when I was about 17. It took three seperate applications of bleach to get it to my desired shade (the first application turned it a deeply strange pale carrot colour!). After a few weeks it was so dry and lifeless I vowed never to bleach it again. My hair's now a dark purple-brown, but it needs re-dying because it's getting really faded!

I also would love to see pics of everyone's unusual wedding dresses! :-)

Mmm. Mmmmmmm. Sounds utterly gorgeous. I'm sure you'll look lovely.

I'm considering a renewal of vows in the next year or so (coming up for our 13th anniversary - I feel so old!) My husband is Catholic so our first wedding was all about the church and the incense and the ivory gown... it was lovely, actually. But now I think it's about time he makes an honest Pagan of me and does it my way ;-) Happily, he agrees.

I'm actually considering a deep, deep red gown but yours sounds so lovely I'm even reconsidering (it's okay, I won't copy). All black with white flowers would be pretty too, wouldn't it?

i think that would be scary to look at..................... i like it.
yah i thought about that before but i like the fact that black attracts heat, so i don't think i'll be changing any time soon.

We had a 'shotgun' wedding - not by definition, but we got married really quick in a courthouse. That being said, my dress is not your typical expensive wedding dress. You really can't see too much of it in this picture, but here goes...it's the same one I used for my avvy. BTW, Xng - your avatar pic is gorgeous!

Aw, thank you. In fact, I have a confession to make.

See my shawl? Well, actually - you don't. You see my curtain. We were kind of poor when we got hitched and I couldn't afford one...so I wore my curtain.

How ghetto is that?

I am resourceful...
