Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

Cream

Yesterday I watched Cream's London reunion show on PBS and they rocked!!! The drummer,Ginger Baker, was playing double bass beats and the guy is 65.Plus Eric Clapton was fantastic. My mom got me into them when I was a teen and I really like them a lot. They were around for only 2 1/2 years and they put out three albums of great material which is really impressive to say the least. The main reason why I think they were so great was because they blended blues with psychedelic music. Not only that but they were the first band to play metal gutiar riffs. In fact they influenced Sabbath and Zeppelin. If you have never heard them I suggest you give them a listen. Here are my favorite songs by them:

Crossroads
Badge
Born Under A bad Sign
I Feel Free
Spoonfull
Sunshine Of My Love
Strangebrew
White Room

Here is an interesting fact about Ginger Baker. He played drums on the PiL album called 'Album'.He gets extra points from me for that.

I listened to them when I was a kid. My mom and dad's collection of course - haven't heard them in decades. I'll have to see if I can find any

I dont mind Cream, and they've got some pretty rockin' songs...but I find Eric Clapton to be wholly overrated as a rhythm guitarist (though maybe Stevie Ray Vaughan is on too high a pedestal, musically speaking...but I doubt it)

I dislike classic rock.

I don't know why either. I am a stock-pile of unless classic rock trivia. I just can't stand to listen to it.

Unless I'm stoned. Then, it sounds cool. I would still rather listen to some rivethead shit or EBM, but I can stand classic rock.
