A little internet help

I have been looking for a coat since autumn, and I haven't found it by the middle of winter!
I ask for you to help me find the coat/blazer/jacket I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a petit coat (all the ones I find are too big for me) that is narrow on the waist and in a price range not much more expensive than $150.
Help? *_*

MMmmmm..well, depends on where you want to buy it...if you really need it now for winter, i don´t think that buying on internet would be the best...and I know you live in a far place, so the shipping would not be easy. Now...the DIY...you know, from all the things I´ve ever made, the coats are one of the most difficult (that´s why I´ve never made one).
Looking at common stores helps a lot. To find something really goth and attractive you don´t need to go to hottopic (which I personaly hate) or any other goth store.
Maybe in a gentleman´s store...well, I´m not a really good help T_T....but you can always try to personalize what you have! =).

Luck with that Jilli *k*

You know, I've been in the same situation for years. Luckily I've never lived in a place that has winter though, so I haven't needed one (though I did just come back from a 3 week holiday in -8˚ weather). I've had no luck at all in finding a coat that isn't too big for me and doesn't make my waist disappear. I mean why is it that hard for coat makers to just taper in the waist just a few more inches?! They'd use less material...

My only advice is keep scouring every reasonable shop you can find. You'll have to find the perfect coat eventually.

I don't know if they have one where you are Jillian, but here the J.C. Penny's carries some cool velvet blazers in dark blue, black and dark green for $40, if you like velvet.
I'm thinking of getting one myself.

If you buy online, they only come in black.

Have you been to the Burlington Coat Factory site?

Don't be afraid to look in the women's section. That's your best bet if you're looking for a narrow waist, anyway.

I got a black cotton drill blazer type jacket a couple of weeks ago. My mum, being an eager seamstress for her offspring, took the stitches out and tapered the sides so it's now fitted and slim rather than boxy and flat. If you, your mum, auntie, or anyone else you know is any good with a sewing machine and dressmaking patterns, you should be able to (get them to) modify any jacket you like the look of so it's just the shape you want. Thus, all you need to hunt for are nice-looking jackets that wouldn't be too difficult to modify.
