So.
I don't do well with introductions, but I've been lurking long enough.
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
Art, piano, books, history, mythology, writing, costuming, Renaissance faires, belly dance, activism, the internet.
2. Where are you from?
My mother's womb.
3. Who is your favorite author?
Anne Rice, Poppy Z. Brite, Edgar Allan Poe, F. Scott Fitzgerald, H.P. Lovecraft, and many others.
4. What are your favorite films?
Horror films, Labyrinth, Army of Darkness, Sleepy Hollow, Interview with the Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Hunger, Nosferatu, silent films
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Marriage isn't my thing.
6. At your funeral?
Tough question. I often contemplate this one myself. Perhaps Don't Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult and Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
I'll let fate decide.
8. What kind of casket would you want?
I want to be cremated and stored in a fancy urn. I already sleep in a casket.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
Victorian mourning dress.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
I don't miss my childhood.
11. What's your favorite band?
I like too many.
Bauhaus (probably my all-time favorite), Lacrimosa, London after Midnight, The Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Christian Death (with Rozz), Fields of the Nephilim, Specimen, Alien Sex Fiend, The Cramps, Misfits, David Bowie, Nick Cave, Voltaire, Siouxsie Sioux, Kate Bush, Diamanda Galas, Sarah Brightman, Jill Tracy, Inkubus Sukkubus, Dead Can Dance, Faith and the Muse, Blackmore's Night, Mediaeval Baebes, Rasputina, Midnight Syndicate, Lustmord, Sopor Aeternus, Blutengel, Cruxshdows, KMFDM, Deathstars, Zombie Girl, Rammstein, The 69 Eyes, Tragic Black, Type O Negative, My Dying Bride, Moonspell, Kamelot, Epica...I could go on forever. Criticize away.
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Currently in college. English, philosophy, psychology.
13. Why did you join?
I'm too antisocial. Plus, this place is educational.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female

The BLUE OYSTER CULT reference makes up for your TRAGIC BLACK mention.

What is it with you deathrockers and hating on tragic black? I think it's decent. Sure a bit more pop-punky, but decent and listenable to me.

Some bands are just fun to dump on. I'll admit that I've heard very little of their music. But we did haunt the same scene. One of them was very nice and even kinda cool, one was very quiet, one was a pompous ass, one was a total dick.

Aside from the Victorian thing, I'm going to like you.

I like you.
I have decided that I like you a lot and that we shall be friends.
Here, a small orgami mourning lily to wear in a suitably Victorian hairpiece.

Damn you, Witch Hammer! I don't like you! I don't have a reason for not liking you, but I don't, to steal a phrase from our English friends, "give a toss!" Boo! Nyah!

Thank you all for the welcomes. I don't know many people who identify as goth, and to be honest, I could use a little guidance. And thank you very much for the origami lily, Delkaetre. I really appreciate it. I'm an avid fan of the Victorian era and period costuming in general. My mourning dress is one of my crowning achievements, but I like fishnets and PVC as well.
PinstripesAndPithHelmets: It's nice to meet you, too.
Tragic Black is just one of my many guilty pleasures. I would take Joy Division over them any day.

Welcome my dear lady. I disagree with Ophie, I find that I have learned quite a bit from this place, but of course, one must discern between good data and bad as "this place" is subject to the same distribution of people from the intelligentsia to idiots.
As to your education in philosophy, which philosopher are you finding appealing so far?
Again, I welcome you and your most excellent taste in music.
