WellI'm not exactly a hard-core goth! There were some people at my High school who would repeatedly walk around the schoo with him on a leash and her leading him. They did it one too many times though and almost got suspended. And there is a guy in my cegep who would tiie girls into different positions in the caf. Only their arms though and only if they consented. But the security guard got mad and finally took away all his rope.

So compared to them, I'm as vanilla as it gets!

Okay, let's make one thing clear: Goth is primarily about music. If you listen to Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the like, you are allowed to call yourself Goth. The black eyeliner, ankh jewelery, and Sandman graphic novels can come later. Acts of BDSM on a high school campus are just ostentatious and stupid.

That said, enjoy your stay.

Thank you for explaining that to me; I'm a beginer and a newbie for a reason!

You don't seem too bad.
We need to get you into real goth music like Marilyn Manson though.

There is nowhere near enough angst and depression in this thread. It is making me nauseated with perkiness.

-coughcoughchokemutter- Marilyn Manson?! Get behind me, Satan!

Cradle's just messing with your head a little. While I enjoy Manson's music, it's not goth. If you're looking for goth, here's some of my favorites:

Cinema Strange

Switchblade Symphony

Sopor Aeternus

The Cure

Those are all linkies by the way...

Don't worry about it, when I first came here I was a complete 'tard. I was convinced that Metal was goth. Then the lovely people here at g-net showed me what real goth music was, I fell in love and have never looked back.

I'm in complete agreement with you Scarlet, they're my two favorite bands!

The feelings are mutual Scarlet, we've been lucky enough to have some decent newbs come around lately, like Azura and yourself. Please stick around, the boards can always use more intelligent and nice people.

OR you can just be an honest ass like me. Then you get NO friends.

Anyway, welcome to the boards and all. You seem sweet.

Eloquence is an under appreciated art in the everyday world I've found. Its easy to confuse people who don't know the difference between 'skim' and 'scan'. Try using smaller and simpler words for the easily influenced.

No friends Xombie? You hardly seem the type...especially with compliments liek that :P

Hahaha, you guys are great! And I'm sure some of those flowery words must have hit the mark a time or two, Breahtless!

I was honestly a little worried I was being too nice for a goth site!

Goths should be no less nice than people of any other subculture, unless said goths are completely pretentious and egotistical.
...Never mind. Yeah, you might be too nice for this goth site.

It's not a question of Azura being too nice, its a question of her naivety. She's quite the innocent it seems. Easily corrupted I'm hoping...

Haha, all the elitist bullshit comes a little later, though in your case I think you're smart and nice enough to be able to avoid that. Be nice to us, and as long as you don't be an ass, we'll be just as nice to you.

Just a couple of warnings, people here say what's on thier minds, but not every criticism is meant as an attack. Also, Tha Duckman is our local troll-king, though less reviled than other trolls. I can almost guarrantee he'll ask for pictures of your breasts, or at least make fun of you, but don't worry, he's mostly just playing around.

Xombie, I'll be your friend! I likes you, you're nice to me.
