Earworm Thread!

An earworm is defined as a song that gets stuck in your head. I was just thinking it'd be interesting to see what people have stuck in their heads lately. For me, it's "My Cat" by Jack Off Jill.

For the past month or so it's been Last Caress by the Misfits.

:?

It's slowly being overtaken by White Slavery by TON, though.

Mistress Tears by Dismal Euphony; That was my earworm for a while. It's a really good song though.

I've had two different songs alternating being stuck in my head lately- "Strawberry Gashes" by Jack Off Jill and "Support System" by Liz Phair.

the worst is when several songs get mixed up in your head... the latest combination in my head was oomph!'s always and manson's big white world. I don't know how the two can possibly be combined...it freakes me out.

Ah, yes, multiple earmworms! Like when you can only remember part of a song and it gets mixed up with part of another song!

exactly....drives me crazy. And if i try to establish another earthworm in my head so that the other two would go away then it's a complete catastrophy. The solution is to simply stop listening to you favorite CDs non-stop for 6 hours. Yeah ... sure.

Today my earworm has been "Wait" by Earshot- probably because I just got the Two cd back from my boyfriend- I never really got to listen to it until now because he snatched it to burn as soon as I got it about three weeks ago! Usually my solution to the earworm problem is to listen to the song again- sometimes when you get an earworm out of nowhere it's your subconscious telling you that you miss hearing the song and need to hear it again! Then again, illuminatti, it might make it worse in your case!

oh dear fucking god, at some point yesterday while walking around downtown KC one of the booths was playing Gretchen Wilson's Redneck Woman. i like the video but i cant stand the song....all night that fucking song was in my head, thats not the bad the part..the bad part was that all i can remember of the song was:
"im a redneck woman, i aint not high class broad"
so that was on fucking infinity repeat in my head.

my roommate and i have been blaring some techno for the teenyboppers on our floor of the hotel...thank god Gretchen is gone.

Ugh, I have an earworm right now. I can't remember the title of the song; all I can remember is that it's by A Perfect Circle and there's a line that goes "disconnect and self destruct one bullet at a time." Does anyone know the song I'm talking about?

For me it's been Alkaline Trio; The first track off
of the cd that looks like a cd, I don't know the name of the
album.

"Take your wings outside you can't fly in here"

Alkaline Trio rocks anyway.

Today's earworm for me seems to be "Wheel in the Sky" by Journey. Could be because I saw some fireworks on Sunday night, and one looked like a wheel (hence the "wheel in the sky" association, I guess).

The Cure-Burn
That song has been stuck in my head for..far too long. It is a great song though. Now its slowly turning into The Sacrament by HIM because my friend has been blasting it all morning.

As a councelor in Camp Kochav at the JCCSF, I've been singing so many irritatingly catchy songs I'm about to die. Currently I have "I'm a nut" stuck in my head.

"I'm a nut, big and round
Lying on the cold cold ground.
The people come and step on me,
That is why I'm cracked you see.
I'mma nut *tongue click x2* I'mma nut *TCx2* I'mma nut, I'mma nut, I'mma nut *TCx2"

There's another verse that's just as catchy, but it's not "camp appropriate" so I haven't had to sing it out loud. So I'll skip that one :P

That reminds me of a "naughty" song we used to sing on the playground at my junior high:

Miss Suzy had a steamboat
The steamboat had a bell
Miss Suzy went to heaven,
The steamboat went to
Hello operator, give me number 9
And if you disconnect me, I'll kick you from
Behind the 'fridgerator, there was a piece of glass
Miss Suzy sat upon it, and broke her little
Ask me no more questions, tell me no more lies
The boys are in the bathroom, zipping up their
Flies are in the city, bees are in the park
Miss Suzy and her boyfriend are kissing in the d-a-r-k, d-a-r-k, dark dark dark

I think we used to get such a kick out of it because you come really close to saying "bad" words, but don't actually.

HAHahahaha, Teka!

That's nothing compared to hearing:

Misfits ~ Teenagers From Mars

We land in barren fields on the Arizona plain,
Insiminating little girls in the middle of wet dreams

followed by:

Misfits ~ Horror Business

You don't go in the bathroom with me X2

then:

The Ramones ~ The Blitzkrieg Bop

Blitzkrieg Bop

Dude! Just freakin' scary!

Hi!

I'm Wolfie and I might just be schizophrenic..............

Right now I have "Chrome Bitch" by Zeromancer running through my head, probably because I listened to it earlier at my internship- yeah, my supervisor there is cool like that. 8) On another note, Wolfie, I don't believe that schizophrenia has anything to do with multiple personalities. I could be wrong, but it's just speaking from my personal knowledge.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Thanks for the morning chuckle, Onnix!

Yes, multiple personalities(or hearing 'voices') is exactly what schizophrenia is.

HAHAHA........

well about 5 hours ago, i watched a video of some people playing DanceDanceRevolution (like exhibition style DDR, competitions and stuff), to the Stevie Wonder song "Superstition."

I'm still hearing traces of the chorus to the point that i had to listen to the song to try to get it out of my head. Don't ask why that works for me, but sometimes .... i dunno. Maybe it's my subconscious telling me to listen to that song.

Oh Wolfie, I found a site to back up my position. You'll have to take back that chuckle, I'm afraid. What you're thinking of is called disassociative identity disorder, which is entirely different from schizophrenia. Check out this site if you don't believe me. http://health.**********/ency/healthwise/aa46937

By the way, I've been told I have schizophrenic tendencies, although I don't have full-blown schizophrenia. I have auditory and visual hallucinations (I hear and see things that aren't there). I also have some smelling hallucinations. Once I came home from a night out downtown and could've sworn I smelled banana bread coming from my closet. I became so incensed at not being able to locate the nonexistant banana bread that I started yelling at my cat to help me find it! Do I have a screw loose or what?
