Do you speak another language?

SInce we have Gnetters from all over the world here.

Does anyone here speak another language besides English? (French,German, Italian, etc...).

Cussing or offensive language doesn't count, by the way.

American Sign Language was my first language while I learned to speak English shortly afterwards. It helped with my speech problem when I was 5.
Since then I speak perfectly well, still signing with some of my Deaf friends and I have taught some ASL classes too.

I know a fair amount of French and a little bit of Mandrin chinese.

I would love to learn German, Spanish and maybe some Japanese.

I used to be able to speak both french and cree. I started out in French emersion and then attended a school that was predominantly of native culture. I'd like to learn German, but I lack patience.

Sadly not any longer, my school was a shithole cesspit of poor teaching and bullies so...

I have always wanted to learn Elvish. Ever since I read LOTR. Unfortunately it isn't the sort of thing you can go to a night class to learn so I'm fucked. My english teachers were so uninspirational and ignorant of disruptive assholes in classes that I really had a lot of trouble with English and English lit, so I am totally ignorant as to the useage and meaning of : verbs, nouns, adjectives, pronouns, grammar ect.. all that stuff, so learning it from a book or the novel itself as some have done is an impossibility for me.

I speak some Tagalog.

I like to eavesdrop on relatives who think I can't understand a thing they're saying about me.

watashi wa nihongo o sukoshi wakarimasu.

Actually I'm in a Japanese class as we speak and I'm going to the Japanese American Museum in L.A. this weekend as a field trip then after we are going eat and sing karaoke. I've been learning Japanese on and off for 15 years now.

kedo boku no nihongo wa mada jozu ni narimashita.

In addition to Japanese...

wo shou he kan hanyu i xia.

and I know a couple words of Korean

bul= water
agashi= waitress
angyo haseyo=Hello (Good afternoon)
komopsumnida= Thank you

I hope to learn Korean someday but I haven't found any colleges yet that teach it .

I also know a little Spanish but doesn't anybody that lives in America these days. It's sort of par for the course.

Je parle le Français couramment - I speak French fluently
Ya gavàrou Parûskì - I speak Russian nearly fluently
Wo hùi shùo Han yù - I can speak Mandarin (conversational)
Hueblas poccito Espagnol - I speak a little Spanish
I speak English fluently - Need I translate?
I also can speak with a number of accents and swear in an assortment of languages. I desperately want to be fluent in Mandarin and Japanese. Japanese because I really do like a lot of J-Rock and visual kei and I also like the GothLoli style.

Parlez moi en Français! And again, I'll offer my French tutoring services to those who want them...I'll even correct texts for y'all.

I speak enough Japanese to get by in conversation. Provided the other party is willing to answer a lot of "what does this mean" questions.

Oltre l'inglese parlo anche lo spagnolo e l'italiano.

Aparte del inglés sé hablar en español e italiano.

Other than English, I know how to speak Spanish and Italian fluently.

Oh, and I also would love to learn Portuguese. I already know a few words and phrases, but still, not enough to carry on a conversation with someone.

I'm basically interested, as you can see, in Romance languages. Latin and French would also be nice to learn, but hey, who said learning a new language was easy? It sure isn't. For now, I guess I'll work on perfectioning the ones I already know.

English, a little bit of Spanish (I understand more than I can speak), and both Malaysian and Indonesian Bahasa. I can also understand quite a bit of Italian, and know enough to get by.

I really want to learn Azeri and Swahili. Not sure why... they just appeal to me in some way.

Spanish is my first language.
Obviously I can speak English, although my tongue always betrays me when I try to verbalize it. I write English better than I can speak it. When speaking, I'm horridly slow and seem to have a lot of 'l' in my voice.
I can read French easily, but struggle to hold a conversation.
I can speak to an Italian person in a combination of Italian and Spanish; they're too alike.

I speak Japanese fluently. One of my goals in life is to be fluent in three completely unrelated languages. I think I would like the third one to be an African language.
