Bachmann proves she has no sense; alienates Fox News host
Bachmann proves she has no sense; alienates Fox News host
Michele Bachmann dismisses Fox host's apology for "flake" question
SOURCE
CBS News, June 27, 2011 12:36 PM
Quote:
Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is not accepting Fox News host Chris Wallace's apology for asking her if she was a "flake."
"I think that it's insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious," Bachmann told ABC's Jonathan Karl on Monday, when questioned as to whether she accepted the apology.
"Those are the small issues. I'm focused on the big ones," she added.
Bachmann, who officially announced her presidential candidacy in Iowa Monday morning, appears to have emerged in recent weeks as a serious contender in the contest for the Republican nomination: on Sunday, the Des Moines Register put the Minnesota Republican at the top of a presidential poll, alongside former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney. The Tea Party enthusiast has also proven her remarkable strength as a fundraiser, raking in $13.5 million for her 2010 congressional race - more than any other congress member.
Nevertheless, appearing on "Fox News Sunday" that morning, Bachmann faced an unusual question from Wallace: "Are you a flake?"
"That would be insulting to say something like that," Bachmann told him, pointing to her record as a lawmaker and businesswoman. "Of course, a person has to be careful with what their words are. And now I will have an opportunity to speak fully."
Wallace later apologized for the comments, observing that "a lot of [viewers] were more than perturbed, you were upset and felt that I had been rude to her."

(more at the link above)
Bachmann chose to bite the hand that feeds her rhetoric to the public. I don't think the question was silly, myself (particularly when asked of a Presidential candidate who once professed to believe in witchcraft), but with an apology issued, if she had any sense she'd move on.

Hear about her getting John Wayne and John Wayne Gacy confused? Hilarious.
I almost wish she'd get the nomination for hilarity's sake, but given the fact that she makes Palin sound like a genius I'm not sure if I can stomach months of it.

Yeah, that's my problem ... she makes Palin seem almost ... almost ... sensible.
Not really, but by comparison, Palin doesn't seem like a she-devil.

Yeah, making statements that contradict her previous statements or actions, or making outright false statements, are what lost her the last election she ran in. No real surprise here. I just hope her campaign implodes soon so that people can start focusing on how bat-shit crazy some of the other conservative politicians sound right now.

Tom Petty Threatens To Sue Michele Bachmann For Using His Song
Tells Her, "DON'T COME AROUND HERE NO MORE"
Excerpt:
Quote:
Everybody hates Michele Bachmann, especially the composer and performer of the classic rock song “American Girl,” which Grandma Bachmann has been illegally using at her campaign events.
|
And:
Quote:
Petty’s lawyers suggested Bachmann should instead use his cover version of the Count Five’s “Psychotic Reaction.”
|
You know, I think I'm actually going to miss her when her craziness gets her bounced from the campaign. Too funny!

Continuing on with insane revelations...
http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...-campaign.html
Bachmann and her husband ran a 'gay clinic' that said they could use science to 'turn' gay people straight. Best part, it was all paid for with taxpayer dollars.

Yeah, I read about that one. Funny how remarkably silent she wants to be about the subject now.
Also, did you know that she literally believes in her faith's admonition to be subservient to her spouse? She has acknowledged that statement as fact on many occasions, including recently. That means even if she became President of the United States of America, her husband could tell her what to do and she would do it, making him the unelected de facto President.

I think he can get into a shitload of legal trouble for impersonating a therapist, I don't think he's qualified.
And yeah, you'd think that would disqualify her right off the bat from getting the nomination.

She won the Iowa straw poll. I think it's great. Not because I like her, but because she is so crazy that she has no chance of winning.

S & P Downgrades Iowa’s IQ « Borowitz Report by Andy Borowitz
Calling the results of today’s Iowa straw poll “alarming,” Standard and Poor’s took the unprecedented action of downgrading Iowa’s IQ.
While the effects of such an extraordinary measure are hard to predict, experts say the IQ downgrade could result in Iowans having difficulty completing sentences or operating a television remote.
“This downgrade would be very upsetting to Republicans in Iowa,” said an S & P spokesman. “Fortunately, there’s no way they’ll understand it.”
The winner in the straw poll, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn), gave a rousing victory speech that was simulcast in English across the state.
But there may be tough sledding ahead for Rep. Bachmann, as a new poll shows her losing support to Texas Governor Rick Perry among voters who describe themselves as morons.
Gov. Perry kicked off his presidential campaign today in South Carolina, unveiling a new stump speech in which he promised to repeal the twentieth century. .

Not all Texans like or want Rick I-Hate-the-Gays Perry to run for president. It's a sad day in America when anyone as outspoken against the gay community as him actually has support as a presidential candidate. I'm still offended about Obama supporting that separate-but-equal bullshit of 'civil unions'.

That's why I'll cast my vote for Ron Paul.
He wants to get the federal government out of our lives.
His stance on the gay marriage issue is to let the states decide the matter.

Deadman..
Let me ask you a question:
Why do homosexuals NOT deserve the right to marriage?
I'm not setting a trap. I just want you to explain why this would be okay in some places and not okay in others.

So that way everyone has a say.
In a way it's like firearms rights (some states are super restrictive and others are really lax)

You also have a way for really restrictive state laws to be over turned and changed as the demographics for said restrictive states change over time.
In the long run it really would help on a number of issues such as the war on drugs.
