I felt really awful that we were joking about something happening to her after about 5 minutes and then time dragged on and we all got really, really worried. It was kind of surreal.

I think that I might think statues are depressing, I might have thought that for awhile. Just looking at them, stuck permanently in place, helpless, and even if surrounded by other statues, completely alone. In many cases their very survival without degradation relies on existing without contact, as they must forever last throughout the ages for all to see, and in order for that to happen, they must refrain from ever having contact with human hands, from ever coming in contact with their creator ever again. The existence of an immortal thing, that will never experience life ever again. Forever alone, for the sake of others. To experience life is to experience death, and upon death be restored to the hands of the creators as they pick up the pieces and decide it's fate, if it is to be restored, or if it is to be left ruined in damnation.

I suppose the same could be said of all visual art.

Heh...

i dont get that at all... statues spend their lives experiencing life to its fullest. they watch civilizations rise and fall, watch nature to its fullest and are active platforms for all kinds of life. during all of that they slowly fade away back to the elements that spawned them to one day be perhaps fashioned into a new statue by a completely new generation of sculptors. i think a statues existence is a noble and remarkable existence!

But thats the thing, all they can do is watch, like people trapped within their own bodies, unable to do anything but watch. It's no fun if you can't join in. Imagine doing nothing but watching tv for all eternity, stuck on one channel forever.

Eh it's just something I think about from time to time. It actually has to do with the sort of dreams and nightmares I have, looking at statues, serves to remind me of such dreams.

So I had a weird dream in which Kontan wrote Despanan a really sweet apology letter, specifically stating that he was using a felt-tip pen and writing in cursive because it was more sincere, even though he hates doing it.

And somewhere after Saya and I were in a shoot out with an FBI like agency. I had the handgun that I want to buy, the Springfield Amoury XDS, even though I've never actually shot it. And then I had to explain to them the moral gravity of when somebody feels they have to exercise state sanctioned violence.

And then I woke up and was three hours late for work. What the shit.

I suddenly am reminded of a few difficulties in raising them. It's either that they pee everywhere, or need a lot of attention. Can't remember if its one or the other or both.

I don't know about where they pee but they do need a lot of attention, which is totally okay cuz snuggles=attention. They can also be quite hard to socialize with other animals but these ones seem completely fine with her dogs, she even took a picture of one riding around on her dog's head.

Looked after three toddlers today. All cranky and they missed out on their sleep. Babybat has just flopped on the floor and fallen asleep.

I should cook tea, but I'm knackered.

Planning a birthday party for a child takes more effort than I thought. Bedroom is half full of balloons and other party decorations and I've just spent over an hour wrapping presents. Just the party bags to finish off now and then tomorrow is baking and cleaning the house ready for the party on Saturday.

Okay so after reading all of Jake's letters I have a question: what the hell is an EPO? Apparently Jake is an (the?) EPO but he didn't mention what that stands for or what sort of duties it entails.

maybe the unit leader? I think in my navy bootcamp we had a similar acronym for the appointed leader of our group.

I had food poisoning yesterday.

AT PINK FLOYD'S 'DARK SIDE OF THE MOON', AS PERFORMED BY THE BLACK JACKET SYMPHONY. I made it to the intermission, and almost cried about five times. But I found it increasingly hard to focus, and before the encore, I knew I had to lock myself in the bathroom where they thought I had passed out drunk.

The show was amazing, but why did I have to puke through half of it...? God.

When I got home, my head hurt so bad it woke me up. I might have felt better this morning, but I probably wouldn't have made it through my day if it wasn't for Muscle Milk. And even though we were dead the latter half of the day, and they sent me home early, I'm still drained. Twelve hours, eleven hours--what's the difference?

It's kinda hard to think. And that's a big deal for me. UGGGHHhh.
